Unusually Bo-legged

Friend called the other day said his pup's front legs were becoming so crooked he could not walk but a few feet at a time. A local vet. had checked him out and said it was a disease called Biliterol {I think that is correct}. Is there any treatment or old remedies anyone has tried for legs in this bad of shape. The vet said there was no cure or hope.
