dog training collars

Post by sewingbusybren »

Greetings,

We are in the market for a dog training collar for our beagle. We have heard of Tri-Tronics, and Innotek. Which is the best for both hunter and dog. Want one that has both waterproof properties for collar and hand unit. How many settings are needed? Do you need to have a feature that gives a beep so that you know where the dog is? Please all helpful information is appreciated and welcome.

Thanks!

Take a look at the Dogtra unit 1800 you can purchase it in a 1,2,3, or 4 dog unit. You can visit http://www.dogtra.com to view the collars and gain info. on them. Both the Collar and Transmitter is waterproof, i use the 1804 and find it better then others. If you have any questions contact me at jlatimr1@bellsouth.net or http://www.latimerbeagles.com

I HAVE TRI-TRONICS CLASSIC 70 AND HAVE FOUND THAT IF WEATHER TURNS REAL COLD LIKE IT IS NOW THAT THEY DON'T WORK. I WILL CHARGE MINE AGAIN TONIGHT AND WILL ONLY GET THIRTY MINUTES OF LIFE OUT OF THEM. AFTER THIRTY MINUTES THERE IS NO CHARGE LEFT IN THEM AND THAT'S IT. DON'T KNOW HOW OTHER BRANDS TAKE THE COLD.

I have a Tri-Tronics Classic 70 2 dog system and I havent had no problem from cold yet but its new too. I have only charged mine one time since I got them last week and left the house this morning at 8:00 and it was 15 degrees and got home at 1:00 and its 27 degrees and I never had a problem with it working and I have used it a lot today. Been doing yard work with 2 bealges and one coonhound but today put it to the test in the field and done a ton of educating on my beagles. Apparently they have been penned up so long they forgot how to handle and they are going to hunt for me with me NOT for themselves by themselves and ignoring me and this was the last resort but I'm tickled to death with the results of mine. I know for the last 2 hours if I felt they were straying a little far or missing some good cover I thought might have a bunny all I had to do was press the tone button and call one time and they were heading my way. Just the way I like it.
