Limping Dog-NEED HELP-Any Recomendations

Post by Va-Beagles »

I have a 6 year olf Tri-colored female beagle who is full of hunt, she loves to go. A buddy of mine gave her to me because she was too slow for him because she had a limp, I took her and would take her out a little at a time trying to exercise her and she has gotten a little better but still has a limp. The vet says she has been hurt before and has arthritis in her hip. Does anyone out there have any kind of homemade remedy that might get my dog back in shape. Please help me, she loves to run a rabbit and is full of desire. I will keep running her even if I have to run her by herself, but I would like to get her where she can run with my medium pack of dogs. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated because "I Love this dog", and want to get like she needs to be and out of pain.

Try half a buffered asprin before a run and after the run...
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be

I would put her on a good glucosamine/chondroitin supplement. gycoflex, or even something from walmart. http://www.glucosamine-arthritis.org/ar ... -dogs.html

You can also ask your vet for some previcox for pain and inflamation. we have a couple on this and it works really well. not too expensive either.

good luck,

Thanks, for the advice! I started with the asprin and she is doing alot better. I am still going to try the Glocomine but she is doing better already and that really makes me feel good. Thanks again! Danny
