Beagles in Show. Whether your beagle shows full-time in the ring or part-time at the field trials, this forum can be helpful and informative for those seeking better conformation in their beagles, and presenting them at their best to the judge.

Hope that is not still a problem. While there in addition to Leesburg (man that place is pricey) you might want to visit Middleburg in the other direction which is prime fox hunting country. The folks at the trials are just beaglers like us, except they could sneeze while counting their money and blow away more than most of us make in a lifetime. They don't act like that though and anyone who is a beagle fancier will be more than welcome.
You are so right Larry.. I loved Middleburg when we were there 5 years ago. I am not sure about the rabbit population at the farm but, I have the best memories from that place. It was magical to me. Also the first place I really got to go out with dogs who were running a rabbit! I hope anyone that can come will. I'd love to meet you!

I was probably most impressed with the senior beaglers. Some of the ladies appeared to be in their 80's and were out there enjoying the hound work and still getting around quite well. As for accomodations there are cabins on the site and also some dorm style bunks in the main building. They cook up a super breakfast so you don't want to miss that. There is not much in the way of hotel accommodations close by the site, but you should be able find something inside a 20 mile radius if you don't want to rough it.
I'd like to meet you too Leah so next time I'm back at Aldie I'll ask if anyone's seen that lady who always wins the big shows.

If they have cabins are they multi room that a few people could go together and rent?
I believe its pretty difficult to get into the cabins for our national event but, maybe the dorms are available? I am honestly not sure. Many of us will be at the days Inn in Leesburg which wasn't terribly expensive and about a 20min drive if memory serves.
If you contact the show chairman she can give you lots of info and probably much more accurate than what I know ;-)
Well it looks like that show is out for me. I just got booked to shoot a wedding on the Oregon coast that weekend. So I will be on the other end of the planet. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed.
There's always the possibility the engagement will be broken by then

true enough. I did find a dog show in July that is about 10 miles from my house, so that may be my first. If you know any that you are going to be attending on this end of the planet (pa, ny, oh, etc) give me a heads up, I will see if I can make it happen.
