Dont run her:

1. her teats are hanging down real low and will get scratched up real bad. She won't want to feed the pups then

2. she hasn't been run in 5 weeks (hopefully) and has had very little exercise. you put too much stress on her, break her in slow after the pups are weaned and her tits have dried up

I know whats wrong! Her body is depleted from feeding 9 puppies for 3 weeks. Now is a terrible time to take her running. She'll need several weeks to get back in shape. If her breasts are all scratched up you will need to watch for Mastitis now. Also, get some extra calcium into this bitch. 9 puppies is a real drain on them and this is just about the time you can have them come on with eclampsia. cottage cheese, yogurt and calcium tablets work fine.

All of the above, PLUS, by allowing her to be around other dogs and out in the wild, you are subjecting those puppies to everything that she has been exposed to!

No telling what she is going to bring back.

Keep her up until the pups are weaned and vaccinated.

Never raised any pups before. I thought the exercise would be good for her. I'll know next time. THANKS to everyone who replied.
