dog got briar in eye
One of my best dogs seemed to have gotten a briar in the eye. I noticed the eye turning a slight grey color and watering after a few days of hard running. I took the dog to the vet asap. and now the dog is getting 3 different meds. It has been a few days now and the eye is still greyish and doesn't look much better and I am concerned that the dog may loose it's vision. The vet was not very convincing that it was not a possibility. Any input would be appreciated.
Well if the vet did get the briar out of the eye it might just have to go through the healing process, did he give you some antibiotics for the eye?
I am sure your vet knows what he is talking about, and possibly the layer of tissue covering they eye has to sluff off and that is what is white. I would follow the vets recommendations. Just keep your dogs eye clean and free of debree while healing is the best thing you can do at this point.
