Champion age

Post by Don »

Hi guys. Just wondering what you think the average age is for a dog to champion out is. Are they mostly young dogs 2-3 years in age or older dogs 6-7 yrs. does a older dog have a shot against the young guns or are they just to old to keep up any more? Thanks.

realy depends on what format, some champ status takes alot longer than others.one can make lprch in 3 hunts were akc takes many hunts.......age up to an exstent makes a dog wiser and harder for the young dogs to hang with sometimes, some of the best hounds around are 6 yrs old and older,i know were a 12 yr old 13in gype is that will run/hunt with anything shes set down with and get alot of the front, checks and the jumps.
