If you have a choice do you run for money or trophies. Do you work for money or trophies. Do you run to win or just for fun. You must choose one or the other no grey areas. For instance you cannot say will its nice to win but i do it because i just enjoy running my dogs. Have you every heard the saying if its not all about winning then why keep score. So which is it gentlemen be truthful not nice.

For me it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.
The money I give to the club for entry fee's and food....
The money I pay to the gas stations to drive all over the country running dogs....
The money I pay to AKC to keep my dogs registered.....
The money I pay to keep my dogs well fed......
The money I give the vet for good pet care......
The money I give my wife so she can go shopping and not bother me when I want to run dogs for the 5th day in a row.
The money I pay for dog boxes, hunting gear, guns, shells, etc.....
The money I pay for that "well bred" pup I just have to have.....
I dont care about the trophies, like I said, its all about the money.....thats why I do it.

It's nice to get a trophy but $$ makes the word go around thats why I run PKC events , and i always want to win if not I would stay home and save money.

I do have a choice and it's none of what was offered as a reply. I have so far elected not to run beagles in competition as my experiance over the several years I did so, with my coon hounds made me realize that the competition changed people be it for a trophy or the money. I ran both UKC and PKC one for points and trophys and one for money as well as our own club hunts that was merely for a little calcutta money and your dogs picture on the wall. Man, I never imagined the personality changes once the dogs were unsnapped for a lousy picture on the wall let alone the trophys or money. I've seen good friends argue and fight like kids and cheat like thieves in the night. I've also seen supposed good friends part ways over dogs either hunting, handling, partnering or merely voicing an opinion so I've pretty much stayed to myself and my cousin in running and or hunting. We don't have to compete and both know when the dogs do well and when they look like sh*t. Don't need to have a judge tell me that as we both know we don't have the best and never will as there is always one better. I also don't see his demeaner immediately change when we unsnap the dogs as we are the same ole two guys just listening to music with nothing to gain and nothing to lose.
