trial question

Post by Gary Reed »

I am new to the sport can some one explane why you cant run a dog in a trial that has been spayed ? Next is there any place you can run one? last year I got my first female beagle, inside dog well we fig I was only getting one and we got her fixed, being inside dog. The wife finnally put her foot down and the dog went out side but I did get a nother female to keep her company  Thats not so bad but now I was wanting to get in to some trials and I think I made a huge mistake getting one of the females fixed.

I just thought that you couldn't run her if she had been spayed for brucellocis. I imagine if you get a health certificate and letter from your vet you would be good to go. I am not positive on this so i don't want to give you any false information, but i would dig a little deeper before i gave up.

1. How would anyone know your female is spayed? and
2. Why would you volunteer that information?

ive always heard it had to do with the mission statement of "bettering the breed"...hard to continue to better it if your spayed..

There are two ways to look at though, someone could be running junk dogs and breeding them, but if the junk is spayed, it is "bettering the breed"
