Best "Style" for Trialing Formats?
I live in North Texas and have recently gotten into beagling but there are not many options for trialing in my area. There are Progressive Pack trials in OK that are close to me but I am not sure if my dogs running style fits that format. I want to give my dog a chance to be a champion. I have read many forums here and numerous format rules to try and see where my beagle's running "style" would fit best but could use some opinions from experienced beaglers. Could someone try to explain what running "style" fits best in each format (LP, SP, PP, and Gun Dog) such as speed, line control, ability to jump a rabbit alone, and etc.?

Dear Sir,
I am certainly no expert, and do not claim to be, but you are going to receive a lot of different opinions and answers from your question. The only suggestion I would give is to go and watch for yourself to see exactly what format your hounds would be best suited. You may also find in doing so that you may like another "style" of hound as well. Opinions and statements can sometime lead you astray, so I personally like to "see" things for myself. At any rate, good luck in your future endeavors with these little hounds.
