Just got word two akc reps showed up to measure all official measured 13" males. Four measured out and are now official 15" males. They said this is only the beginning. Different trials and different classes are next. Here we go.

That is good news. People spoke and AKC listened. Glad to see they still believe rules are rules. One question I have, Can you premeasure a hound before a hunt. If they are right at 13" can you measure before the hunt so they will not get thrown out at winner's pack? I am talking about a dog that has measured 12 15/16" and also measured 13 1/8". Does this depend on club or is there an AKC rule?

Does a hound lose its past wins in 13" if it measures into the 15" class by these reps?

Not being a trialer that sure is good news to see that the registry is enforcing their own rules. It is actions as this that will prove to those of us who are doubtful of the adherance and or enforcement of what the framers intended would be backed up that they will be. It is also refreshing to see that those who have gotten away with it either due to not following the rules or misinterpretation would be striped of their awards given under false pretense. A registry that imposes the word of the law is a registry I could trial under.

Yes, you can pre-measure. In fact, most premium lists (ads) will say "Closing at 7:00 am, Pre-measure from 6:30 to 7:00 am" or something of that nature. If a hound measures 13 at pre-measure, he will not be measured again if he makes winners pack. One measurement per day. I always pre-measured my hounds -- even though I knew what class they belonged in. Not only did it keep things honest up front, it kept things honest later on. I once saw a hound measure out of the 13" winners pack only to see him replaced with a taller dog.

YEAH,IT WAS STEWART AND ODEM,FIRST THING I HAVE TO SAY IS THIS..............

I DONT CARE WHAT A HOUND MEASURED ANY DAY,ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHAT THAT HUND MEASURES THE TWO DAYS IT WAS OFFICIALED,YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO,HOUNDS MEASURE DIFFERENT UNDER DIFFERENT JUDGES ON DIFFERENT DAYS"

MEL STEWART,A PHONE CONVERSATION WITH ME IN 08

I WAS TOLD MY OFFICIAL MEASUREMENT WAS THAT,OFFICIAL AND PERMENENT,AND I LIKE HOW IT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST TRIAL I GO TO AFTER THE BS THREAD ABOUT MY DOG,YEAH,BANDIT MEASURED OUT,WAS HE THE ONLY ONE,NO,WAS HE THE BIGGEST,NO,DOES HE OR ANY OF THE OTHER DOGS LOOSE THEIR POINTS AND WINS......

NO

AND THAT WAS TOLD TO ME BY BOTH REPS,SO,I HOPE THEY DONT GO BACK ON THAT STATEMENT TOO.........

AM I PIZZED,VERY,DO I CARE,HECK NO,ONE THING O DONT LIKE IS THEM MAKING THESE DOGS OFFICIAL 15,THEY SHOULD JUST TAKE THE 13 CARDS AND LEAVE IT UP TO THE OWNER IF THEY WANT TO RUN THE DOG AND TAKE A CHANCE IN THE WINNERS PACK,WHY,THIS IS WHY,ONE DOG MEASURED 13 1/2 AND HE WAS STACKED UP TO THE MAX LIKE THEY DID BANDIT,ACCTUALLY,ONE REP HELD BANDIT UP ON HIS TOES WHILE THE OTHER ONE MEASURED,AND OH YEAH,THEY DIDNT CALIBRATE THE STAND BEFORE MEASURING THEM,SO,HOW IS IT LEGAL AND BY THE RULES,WE WANT TO GET TECHNICAL,THEN DO IT BY THE BOOKS......

THE OTHER THING IS I GUESS EVER JUDGE WHO MASURED THESE FOUR DOGS WILL RESIEVE ONE STRIKE,TWO STRIKES,THEY ARE STRIPPED OF JUDGING LISC.BUT WILL BE ABLE TO GET THEM BACK BUT MUST ATTTEND THE CLASSES AGAIN.......

I DONT AGREE WITH THE TIMING OF THIS CRAP,BUT I DO THINK THAT IF THEY DO LIKE THEY SAY AND THIS WAS JUST THE STARTING POINT,THAT IT WILL BE A GOOD THING,BUT I WILL BE VERY SUPRISED IF ANOTHER DOG IS EVER PUT THROUGH THIS,I ALONG WITH ABOUT EVERYONE THERE TODAY FEAL THIS WAS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE BASHFEST AND WHINING THAT WENT ON HERE AND ONE DOG WAS TARGETED,I JUST HATE IT FOR THE OTHER ONES THAT LOST OUT............

I HOPE THEY STICK TO THIER WORD AND SHOW UP AT EVERY TRIAL FROM THE DEEP SOUTH TO NY AND MICH,IF YOUR GOIN TO CLEAN UP THE AKC,CLEAN UP THE ENTIRE AKC,CAUSE IF THERE ARE TRUE 15 IN DOGS IN THE 15 IN CLASS,WELL,OUR BORDERLINE 13 IN DOGS MAY STAND A CHANCE............

LIKE I SAID,I THINK THIS WAS A TARGETED ATTACK,AND THIS WILL BE THE LAST WE HEAR OF IT,I HOPE THEY PROVE ME WRONG,BUT I AINT HOLDIN MY BREATH

OH YEAH,HEY GREENBAY JOE,LOOK ME UP AT THE NEXT TRIAL,I WOULD LOVE TO BUY YOU A BEER,THANKS BUD,NOW I GET TO RUN HIM IN BIGGER CLASSES WITH MORE POINTS THAT HE CAN GET ;)

I'm sure it was just a coincidence, Danny. I don't think all of the beagling world really follows or cares what you do with Bandit. No offense, of course.
