Hey everyone,

Jim Umbarger of Jump Mountain Beagles invited me to run my dog recently here on the forum.

I met Jim this past weekend for Capo's first rabbit hunt. It was a good time. We ran with around eight or ten dogs. Cover was thick and the vegetation varied. The dogs did get a few good runs in. Capo learned a lot and developed a taste for recently shot deer :chef: He also learned about tracking from the other dogs. I also figured out Capo is a pretty big beagle at around 15.5" tall. He was much larger than most of the other beagles, but they outran him ;)

We went on a walk through the woods Monday afternoon and he was 100% more confident. He now follows trails more aggressively. I plan on going back soon for a gun hunt.

Jim's a great guy full of tips on running your dogs. I learned a lot from both him and his dogs. I recommend that you give him a call if you're going to be in the area.

Thanks Jim!

You're welcome Tom! Just keep Capo on rabbits and he make you proud. Come on back for a gun hunt. I think you will enjoy it.
