Jay Schrader Field Trial Secretary reporting.

Blue Water Beagle Club held its AKC licensed small pack option field trial Oct. 23-26, 2008 in Capac, MI. We would like to thank all our friends from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa and New York who attended and congratulate everyone who placed hounds. Thank you to all the judges. Every one of the judges worked very hard to give each hound a fair look. The winners pack in every class ran very well. The 13” bitch winners pack was extremely impressive driving 5 rabbits to holes and accounting for all their game. We had plenty of game, never having to search for more than a few minutes for the next rabbit.
Congratulations to Brian Garmatter for finishing Riverbend’s Lightning as a new AKC field champion with his win in the big male class.
Thank you to TRACKER, TRITRONICS, SACANDAGA DOG SUPPLY & TRACTOR SUPPLY for donating raffle prizes. Thanks to the kitchen staff for preparing such great meals. And thanks to all the other volunteers that helped out. We hope everyone had an enjoyable time and will return next year. I will post photos when I get a chance.

jay sounds like you guys put on one hec of a trial, everybody i talk to said they had a very good time, they said you had lots of game and the pen was looking nice, had a big turn out, i'm glad we don't need to lose another trial in mi. GREAT TRIAL

Thanks Ron. I've been meaning to call you and congratulate you on your win. I wish you could have been there. That is one nice young dog you have there. I saw her running third down a marked line. When the first two dogs overshot the corner, she made the turn without missing a breath. You should be proud of her.

The field trial went better than I could have ever imagined. We had a lot of help. The food was great. The judges all did a heck of a job. The people were really nice. I made some new friends. The grounds are really coming along nicely. As you know we put a ton of work in that place in the last couple years. I've never seen that many rabbits there. Even the back pen had lots of game.

It would not had been such a good trial without all the hard work from the Blue Water members and all the support of the beaglers who attended.

Jay, it was nice meeting you. You and your club put on a great trial. Just like you said, there was great food, great people, and lots of game. Good job to all the members of BWBC.

i heard he made a fool of himself starting crap with one of the judges, and then ron hunt two of the best guys you will ever meet, tony who was the judge could have wrote him up but choose not to, but i did here that he did say he was sorry to ron, just what i heard.

CONGRATS TO ALL! GARBLADDER FINALLY FINISHED HIS DOG AND LITTLE DAVEY GOT THE BLUE. WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE. BRIAN SAID RUNNING WAS GREAT AND FOOD WAS BETTER. FAT GUYS SHOULDN'T TRY TO FLY. THE GROUND COMES QUICK. NICE PICS, TOP NOTCH.
