Thanks, folks. I was tickled to death, and accused Dan of lying to me when he told me about it. These derbies are out of my first litter (under my own name). I may be the breeder and owner on record, but Dan Kane of Ontario has given them the training and opportunity since they were 9 months old, so thank you Dan, from the bottom of my heart. It's just a derby trial, I know, but I have my fingers crossed that it's a good sign of thing to come.

It was almost that way, Gang! I think they only had 12 entries, but the way I look at it, each dog had an 11 to 1 chance of winning, right? And I don't know the odds for placing. I suck at math...especially gambling math.

Thank you Cameron! Yes these same three have been showing well in the fox trials. The Sandy Creek trial was their 4th time ever on hare.

Dan was running them with his derby at Ottawa Valley BC the week before Sandy Creek and Patch didn't come in. He found him just lying on the ground (upright on his belly like he had a chew bone or something). When Patch saw him he wagged his tail but made no effort to get up. Dan though maybe he'd broken something. When he got to him, he saw that Patch had caught his hare and had it tucked under him, LOL!
