the raffle was OUTSTANDING (not just because we won the Owens Dog Box LOL) some Fantastic prizes were given away and the club spared no expense there was over $5000 in prizes not encluding those Donated by Misses McVay

Caint wait to see what they come up with next year!!!!!!

I am not trying to turn this into a Shameless brag but just had to highlight our Lug Nut Dogs acomplishments over the weekend he did great and made me proud...

Tracy I'll second that!!! I had a ball. I was glad to finally meet Jackie and you, and Lugnut. He is a fine looking Beagle, and the fact he can circle a rabbit makes me a whole lot fonder of him. He didn't disapoint me at all.
I got to see Don's Triple Threat run in his first cast, and his brother King (Dave Tipton) my goodness WOW! It was hot, baby rabbits, and these guys run-em like its raining, they don't even put their nose down. They can Scoot.
I would like to Thank Don and Dave, and definately Jim Schumaker for the alesome setup, and their hardwork to make this all come about. I know they and their Wives put alot of time into this. Thanks Guys & Gals!
I sure did learn alot, and I can't wait to come back. We met with some great great people. Ottie Burke Thanks for showing me how to break into my own truck.(We won't tell that story), and for showing me how a bench champion should look and act, Baxter sure isn't your standard pot licker!
I got to see (Crowtown Kennels) Mark Murray's Zoey, and sure would have liked to take her home to Kentucky with me But his pretty wife said NO! She got my #1 vote in my book she is something special. Mark I love what your doing, and I can't wait to get together again. If I remember right she won her first cast too. Who said pretty Beagles can't run a rabbit, she can do it all.
With that being said I have never see so many gorgeous beagles at a trial, There were too many to mention.
Tracy I too was happy with the Raffle I came home with a youth model Shotgun, My boys were thrilled!!
But now Dave Hittle made out like a bandit, he won the 50/50 cash pot, and I believe he also won two door prizes. His Rocket Dog won the cast I was in, Ouch! Then he goes out and hires a professional handler in Dave Hummel and then Rocket won Junior Male on the Bench. Congrats Dave you had a good day buddy. Mr Hummel I might have to hire you for your show ring services in the future.
I also got to meet this guy with a big smile on his face and a Cincinnati Reds hat on Tom Ragland from Detriot. I had a great time talking with him and his friend Mark. Tom you are a joy to be around, I think I could talk to you all day, and we tryed. We will have to get together soon. Tom, Mark, MooreDawg and I are planning on Just buying the whole Sundown Kennels because we like just about every dog they got! We also plan on Winning the Lottery first. Don McVay the checks jn the mail!
Jackie Carpenter you had a very hard job judging the bench show, and I think you did an exceptional job, Good going. If people think Boxing and Figure Skating judges have it hard, they need to see a bench show with lots of tough dogs, or see these judges hustling and chasing after some fast dogs on a 100 degree day. Thanks to all the judges, your job is never easy.
I got to also meet Bill Ashcraft and his family. He has the most precious little girls you have ever seen, Blond hair, Big Eyes. They look like twins, but a few years apart. They had the girls selling raffle tickets, THATS NOT FAIR! How can anybody say No to them. I also tryed to talk Bill out of his Sly Pup, but he wouldn't take a Credit Card or IOU, or a Youth Model Shotgun on Trade. Dang the Bad Luck. Bill I think you could have used that Shotgun to keep the Boys away from of those Pretty girls of yours.
I know I'm probably forgetting somebody, but I'll remember your face next go round.
There were at least 17 states represented, It was a great time, and I'm making my reservations for next year right now! Gregg
I'll keep My GOD, MY Freedom, My Guns, and My Money! You can keep the "CHANGE".

Gregg,

I thought the shotgun was for the Lady pup.

You would need to own the shotgun company to get Sly. I promise it wont be the last you see of him. LOL

Thanks for the compliment on the kids. Just think you might have to make a little drive to come and get your kennel. Then you will be thankful. I should have some puppies about that time that you would like to take home with you.

I too had a good time. Hey Crabby congrats on your win. You'll have to come up early, with them NC boys and run. Tracy and Jackie, you have to get Sally up here next year. Then I'll be able to take them out, but not you. I sure won't take Ol Lugnut back to the same spot he hunted before, he's like one of them new fangled things that tells you where to make the next turn, he don't forget. I sure had a great time with some old & new friends. Chris Overcash thanks for the new stopwatch. See you all next year.

It was good to see such a good turnout for this event. Even if you don't enter a dog in the compitition, you should attend to meet some real fine people and enjoy the atmosphere that surounds this great event. My hat is off to the McVay family for pulling off this event with few problems. Congrats to Mike and Honey on thier win. It takes a strong hound to get it done in that kind of heat. Congrats to TC and Lugnut for thier wins in the show. I hope to see everyone again next year. Maybe the weather will be cooler. I think my hound took the heat better than I did while out in the cast. :)

Gregg,

Thanks for the compliment. I have been judging beagle and coonhounds for years and they are getting better every year. It is a joy to judge the dogs and meet their handlers. I will be there next year just to watch.

TC, I have seen your name on this board for awhile, it was a pleasure to judge your dogs. Like I said any of the last three could have been the overall winner.

Take care and good hunting. Hopefully in the next couple years I can get in the fields with you guys.
