To avoid clogging up other threads with complaints about the world hunt, taking pot shots at others, and accusations of cheating.

Here is a thread devoted strictly to it.

I have no problems with the hunt or anyone there.

I was annoyed that I got sent to a place with no rabbits in round 2 of the opens. A place that had been run the day before with no rabbits.

The rounds I observed, or had a dog in, I feel that the judges did a good job and don't have a problem with any of the calls.

Things I did learn;

Judging there may look easy because it is flat, it isn't.
Rabbits run big and I don't think there is a hole in Indiana.

Judging three casts is enough to aggravate shin splints and realize that I need some running shoes.

The state animal in Indiana is the tick. There are also different types of ticks and they seem to be immune to Off.

Pizza hut in Evansville is crap hole. The apparently they use food for floor covering. The person who is supposed to clean tables must have died (about a year ago). They didn't have any large pans, so brought us two mediums. One was still cold in the center.

Overall, I had a good time and plan to go back.

Rusty Lyons drawed june in the semi finals with l&l ol red, and got beat by june, just like all the other dogs that drawed out with june, and they got beat, if I was going to cheat, I would cheat for a dog that was not as good as my dog or better. all the other dogs got beat just like I did, like it or not, i didn't either, but sh.. happens!!!!

I whined all the way home wishin i would have got another one of them barbecues...Boy they was good Then i whined about how cut up one of the judges was..it was a toss up between him and ol Junie as who looked the worse. They both looked like they been in a fight in the middle of a roll of barbwire/ now that must be tuff love. Both of them went thru multiflora they didnt go around. Them folks up north can talk all they like about snow dogs but id like to see them stay with that ol dog. Boy that should stir things up. PS.Silverzuk that place is full of rabbits what you say is hard to believe but i guess anything is possible. Most complained of splits.

Yep, we had several splits when we were pleasure running and in the casts that I judged.

I saw several of the splits judging.
Some required a time out because when the dogs ran into the swamp, 3 rabbits left the same area, or similar. We had no clue which was the original rabbit.

A saw splits caused by dogs working the outside and dogs that were swinging pretty big. Those dogs would swing out of the check area, or cut out of line to run to the front, and hit another rabbit and take off.

I enjoyed seeing a lot of different types of dogs and different type of running from what I am used to.

Thats a fact. Why in the world would you cheat for a dog, knowin that you might have a good chance of going against him in the next round.
And if anybody says that Junie cant do it on his own, DOESNT KNOW A RABBIT HOUND. JMHO!! :-o

I think that the NKC should get their own judges for these major events. This would help stop buddy judging and some honest judges of getting accused of it.
The only thing that I did'nt like is even though judges had to be rolled you could choose to judge with a certian group of people. If someone was tryin to push certian dogs they would'nt have any other judge to contest their call.

I did'nt have this problem my judges they really ran their tails off and I have no compliants even though I lost

If the handler felt they had a legitimate complaint about cheating, or poor judging, they shouldn't have signed the score cards, then taken it to the MOH.

If the whole cast came back and said they got cheated, the MOH would have likely done something about it.

It is point less to protest a call when it is viewed as a judgement call, and even harder to protest when the judges tell the handlers to stay in a certain area then walk the dogs out of site. And what is the point of protesting when those judges may have your other dog in the next cast.
Like they say, don't pee into the wind because it is going to come back on ya.

And out of 5 days and several protest each day how many were over turned.

I did not post to cut on any judges,I was merely making a suggestion that may help eliminate some of the rumors of buddy judging or the state to state fued.

first of all i don't hate anyone but here is another fact for you; in rd 1 Rusty Lyons was the only judge that sorced anything on any dogs other than junnie. So we knew there at at least one good judge in that round. Other two had scores only one junnie. Rusty lyons you are ok in my book. because you told the turth to the watch dog committee. We need more judges Like Rusty. I don't own a dog but I love handling and watching a good dog run. Our dog that was in round one wouldn't have won because the best dog in that cast was Otis dog from galexy kennels.
