Dog starts barking like it is looking at a rabbit. Runs the track for about 30 feet and stops and is looking down a hole. None of the other dogs make it to where this dog is. How would this be scored?

That just depends on the judge and where he is the time the dog took off. It could either be a jump /strike if the judge believes the dog did in fact jump the rabbit, or if nothing else happens for 3 minutes, a minus can be given if the judge isnt convinced the dog really had anything.

i would guess that if only one dog barked it would be a minus unless the judge seen the rabbit.

My opion is if only one dog barked it would be -10. that rabbit might have been out there 45 minutes ago.

Judgement call.
It is up the judge to try to determine if the dog was running a rabbit, squirrel, groundhog, etc.
The way you described it, I would say strike jump, some judges may only give a positive strike.
I also have seen the exact same thing you are talking about with a squirrel. The handlers saw the squirrel.

it just up to the judge just because one dog is all that barked makes no diffence it might have been the only dog in the cast that can run a rabbit you neverknow if i were judging an close to the dog probably jump an stike now if all i saw was him standing at a hole i really think minus just have to be there i really dont like just giving a stike because something jumped it to make it run it didnt fall out of a airplane.now granted the dogs dont allways jump it sometimes handerler do but it always has to be jumped to run

I agree with SilverZuk.. It is a judgement call whether the dog produced a rabbit or not. I'm not sure what I would do by reading this, I would have to witness it to make my decision.
I too was judging once and seen a dog open on a chipmunk and run it under a rock...

guys i see and hear something along these lines just about ever trail i go to. judging comes down to just knowing hounds knowing when a dog is just babbling or backtracking cold trailing or in this case if he jumped a rabbit a true houndsmen knows when a dog has jumped a rabbit just by the way he sounds and you cant run it no farther than a hole.
