Jeremy... I haven't the foggiest idea whether Don will be there or not. I imagine so. I'd say he's pretty happy with "his adopted son" after your good fortune down south, ha ha.

Best of luck in big males and females next weekend...

Ah, We can hardly wait! After taking a break for a few years, I'll be returning to the Kentucky trials this year with my Wife. Mid-Kentucky and Jessamine have always been great places to attend trials. I like to place just like everyone else does, but even if I don't, and come to think of it I never have there! (LOL) I've always had a blast at these trials! Good people, food, and lots of fun! We're sure looking forward to going! Hell, we may even do good this time, who knows? Why if we can't put a whippin on those dogs, I'll sure as hell demolish the breakfast bar! See everybody there! Take care, Bill & Sharon Ennis.

What kind of speed do they want to see at this club? Just got back from Lavaca Beagle Club(Arkansas) AKC event and had my best dog picked up for doing exactly what I wanted. Which is fine, to each his own I say, but I need to find a club that thinks highly of a medium-fast dog. My Idea of a good dog is one that can circle a rabbit quicker not stay within 6 foot of the line. I don't want the ultra fast format either. I was told that ARHA would better fit my style of dogs but I'd like to find an AKC sanctioned event that would accept this style.

Thanks

-Ben

Ben... the Midwest Association which Mid-KY are members of run a fairly aggressive dog... upper medium speed to fast footed dogs.

Central Arkansas Beagle Club in Mayflower, AR runs MIdwest as well. However doesn't hold trials until around Thanksgiving weekend.

If you decide to come up to Mid-KY best of luck to you.

Just got back from the Trial. They have to finish tomorrow,9 dog winners pack. Don't know who all made it,I know Trull's More Money Moe(Chris Spall) made it but don't know the rest. There was some very nice hounds there,48 big males. It was fun, seen some great chases.

if you have a hound who can pursue with a purpose and get SOME WORK DONE YOU WILL BE FINE. HARD DRIVIN DAY u cant bring a jackass to a thoroughbred race. but there is times more than not speed is nullified by rabbit running ability and getting those checks. berea is known for head high flyin ;)

It was anice hunt if dogs were not forced to run on LH side of parking area. My cast ended up on road thank goodness for denny dugan,
There is no reason to run there when you are looking at 300 acres in front of you . Congrats to Big Mark Brown , and all others who placed.
Had good time will be back .
