A Dog barks three barks. A rabbit is jumped after this all dogs comes over but nothing can find the line. Three minutes pass. Judge calls dead track. Should a minus be given or a strike?

If you saw the rabbit and dont know who jumped it, the dog that was on the clock gets a positive strike.

We knew which dog jumped it because it was the only dog in the weeds. The only thing was that the dog couldnt show any line. Not a dog in the cast should but it was in some cat tails with a inch of water in them.

if you know which hound jumped it,that dog does not have to run it to score the strike/jump.

Is this a case where the dog that jumped it, but couldn't run it could win the cast and even the hunt?

Where's REDTICK!!!

I agree with Lynn.....Jump / strike on the dog you knew produced it.

Doesnt matter if they cant run it.

That's what I thought. I was given a minus though. We seen the dog jump it and we seen the rabbit. The dog barked three times but just couldn't line it out.

Past two weekends we had trials right here at Baileyton and I couldn't go to either to hear some of my friends good dogs run.

Would you say I'm trying to start something?????

Yep, Strike & Jump.

I'm surprised there isn't anyone on the other side of this one. Saying the dog doesn't deserve the plus points since it couldn't run it. I remember about a year and a half ago this same question came up and there was a big argument on whether the dog should get plus or minus.
