Hey guys/gals lets me hear your opinions or if you know for a fact, set me straight.
I recently attended a LP trail, in which their were 10 open casts. Meaning your dog had to win its cast to place. However, one complete cast was scratched for running off game,Thus leaving 1 placing available.
Should the dog placing second in a cast with highest amount of points be awarded that 10 place finish ?
thanks all and have a blessed day

i believe your right. the next highest scoreing dog that did not win its cast should get the 10th place.

They started with 10 casts, meaning that there should have been 10 1st round winners. No winner came from the cast that was scratched,so the semi finals would have consisted of 9 hounds, rolled and ran off in the semi finals. Then run the 2 winners of the semis in the finals for 1st & 2nd and placing the other hounds based on their semi final score 3rd thru 9th and 10th place vacant(NO hound shall be moved up to fill a place)

lynn i only thought it was done that way because the only times ive saw that question come up, it was handled the way i mentioned. im sure your right. its a shame, not the first time ive saw things handles the wrong way at a trial just to appease somebody.

The way it was done, was the way Lynn stated. No 10th place dog was named. It was my position that the highest scoring 2nd place cast winner should have been moved, in order to fill the 10 placing positions, it appears I was wrong.
Thank you for your response. As you may have figured out, that 2nd place dog was my dog. Have to do better next time. Thanks.

Hey Big mike look at it this way.It could have been worst, you could have been one of those that got scratched for running off game.
