In AKC Trials you need a copy of the dogs registration so you can write some of the info off of it. Dogs reg. number, dam, sire, birthdate ect.
The classes are 13" Female, 13" Male, 15" Female, 15" Male.
You need to be there before closing of entries to register the dog, they have a short form you fill out to enter. Let them know your new to trials and they'll explain things as needed.
Your dog is given a number when you enter, that will be the dogs number througout that trial. When they draw for packs just remember your dogs number and which pack it's in. Once they call for your pack number just pay attention to what the judge and field marshal tell you and enjoy the run. If they don't tell you to pick your dog up then it's still in the running to possibly move on to the next series where the dogs that are left will be drawn into packs again. AKC is a good place to learn about trials since the judges do most of the work and you can just watch to see what's going on. The UKC you need to know the rules or you could be misguided by people in your cast that don't know the rules or are trying to take advantage of you.
You will find helpful friendly people at AKC,UKC trials. The AKC is just easier to understand as a beginer.
Good Luck and Hope to see you at a trial soon!!!
