Midwest Judging

In 37 years of trialing, I think Jessamine county had some of the worst judging I have ever seen. I saw packs run half circles, other dogs where picked up before ever running a rabbit, in the first and second series. Whatever happened to the Midwest moto (we let them run). We all know they are things going on in at least one class, the judges and handlers know who they are. If the best 5 dogs don't place what is the point? I also think the big female class at whitewater was a well judges trial.

My little dog was only one that didnt run the deer. Ethier deer race they had 2. She got picked up. Guess I would have a check or two if she had of ran them.

It's no longer a sport when your buddy can write on a pice of paper who gonna win, and he is rt every Damm time .. There only dogs .. Lol but all you have to do is stand by and watch the numbers will fall.. They ll be no entries again . Mid west just now started getting some good number .. Now to many people NOT HAPPY again..people are not blind!

I don't think mid west problem is the judging at all! I believe the Midwest is got some of the best judges that a format can have and very talented ones at that with experience in my opinion the only thing is wrong with the Midwest is politics ! And you might as will get used to it it's been happening for years .. It's real simple you don't like what's going on don't go to the trials !!

The 5 or 7 minutes worth of running a rabbit that I've witnessed happening doesn't prove anything, most dogs aren't going to perform very well when the rabbit chase last less than 5 minutes, often times the dogs aren't even all in there on the same track and they are judging a partial cast of dogs.

Any judge attempting to make decisions based on such a small amount of information should be avoided, steer away from those judges and don't ever attend any trial they are judging, the clubs will soon receive the message loud & clear.

Good Judges determine the outcome of a trial based on the performance of the hounds. If the judges do their job politics will not be a factor. If politics is a major factor you don't have good judges.

And sometime you might want to keep in mind if the judges have seen what they need to see it don't take five minutes to confirm what they believe they like or they dis like ..
