never mind PREACHER i don't need to see any results, you are right i was not there and neither were you,i am hering it from other parties, just like you, your gonna back your friends and i'm gonna back mine,so i will not post anything else on this topic, let the people who were there type about it if they got beat or cheated.as long as there are field trials and people competing against each other ther is gonna be hard feelings and people thinkin they got done wrong, and sometimes you are gonna get cheated,

the results will be in the rabbit hunter as they always are ..
Re: Home cookin
It sure would be interesting for those of us who do NOT participate in beagle trials to see the results of this one. Some of us have participated in other hound trials and know that cheating and home cookin goes on all the time. Sometimes it's not about the best dog winning but rather the best handler or judge. Judgement calls are nothing more than an opening to get slick handled or judged. Seen it more times than I care to remember in nite hunts and to the point that it was more of a hassel then fun. I no longer participate and in fact have no coon dogs or even belong to the club. It's a sad day when trophy's and championship points come between people when the basis for all of it is actually in the dogs ability to do what they were bred to do. I've never seen a man or woman scent track game for survival and it seems that when man gets their nose in it the animals ability is outweighed by man's ability to skew the results of true reality.

Re: Home cookin
well i still go to some trials not as many as i used to .. i see very little to no cheating going on.it is more of rare occurances than an every day thing.
does it happen sadly yes. but anytime u have 5 guys out there wanting their dog to win and they are serious about trialing ,they are gonna second guess the judge ,,
heres a scenario -i was judgeing a cast the humans lol. were 40 yards away at least .. a dog opens up 3 times ,, so of course the owner thinks his dog is on the clock
for a strike and possibly a jump. and strike.
but what they didnt see was ,another dog was inside the pile of brush and jumped the rabbit and didnt even know it till after that dog barked 3 times ,then they all pile drived it ..
that was ran till time was out ...the owner was mad he didntget the strike at least ,, when i told him what happened ,he didnt even belive me .. but thats what happened anyhow.

Re: Home cookin
I heard throught the grapevine that Micheal Moore's dog won the opens, Wade Hill's dog won the champs, and Stony Morris's dog won the Grands. Wasn't there so have no idea what happened at this hunt and I'm not sure if these results are even correct as I said this is what I heard through the grapevine...

Re: Home cookin
I'll begin by saying I wasn't at the field trial. And I typically only go to 2 - 3 trials a year here in middle, TN. So I am not a big time trialer. I haven't said anything on here so far, hoping others that were there would speak up, but come to think of it very few folks from any of these middle TN clubs use the computer that I know of. They are for the most part old school fellows. I don't think the club is hiding anything by not posting the results or making comments - just none of them are on this message board...or even on the computer.
I did speak w/ a gentleman this afternoon who was at the trial and is a well respected beagler in this area. He is as honest as they come and he said that absolutely nothing was orchestraded or rigged....that is just silly. He said that for the most part the field trial went very smoothly and really there was only a problem on one cast that he was aware of. Someone on here said that no out of state dogs won anything. I was told that plenty of out of state dogs placed in all classes and he specifically talked about a man from IN placing 3rd in the opens.
He did say that a group of individuals were completely out of line cussing and smashing trophies at the club house. Again, out of state folks had to have placed to have been awarded trophies. He did not say any kids were present, so I'm not sure where that came from.
I do believe the club has requested that NKC get involved as they have nothing to hide and feel they were in the right.
For you spectators our there reading this thread - please don't let 2 or 3 angry folks getting on here shape your opinion of TN beaglers.

Heres what I know.
The beagler in question is as honest as the day is long. If he was cussing, you can bet the farm that he got ripped.

Re: Home cookin
sometimes you can get a little bad home cooking.heard there were some bad and heard there was some good.but not to post a state hunt result what is going on.give ever who placed and the dogs some credit.all these people that has looked at the site dont want to here a bunch of dog barking they were checking to see who won.results that what the people want.

Re: Home cookin
I think the problem here is not just what happened at the hunt. I know of several people that planned on going to this hunt and were convinced not to go because of the club's reputation. I was told by at least 3 reputable beaglers not to waste my time because of the way things had gone on down there in the past. Others I talked to who were planning on going told me the same thing - it's a waste of time, they buddy-judge at that particular club. When the club already has that reputation, and then as predicted, the same thing happens to a respectable beagler - what are the people on this board expected to think? I don't think calling people "cry babies" is going to address the problems with this club when most field trialers not from that area predicted this would happen a month before it did.

I have no ideal of what transpired, but always remember iffin ya trial its a not a matter of IF its a matter of WHEN. Thats just part of it.

Re: Home cookin
Its over let it go it happens in every walks of life and until the people of this organization bring back the old days of how this thing use to be run it will not get better. No elections of the watch dog committee no election of chairman sec treasure all the big boys are appointted know. Didnot use to be that way. Was just talking to paul prevot the other day and we went over the changes that have occured in the last 7 years. Lets see elections only happen at club levels no higher why? no rules committee is this because the rules are perfect and could not be better. I think not. There are people right now sitting in positions that do not even compete in hunts any more so how would they know whats going on or what needs changed. I remember when clubs would recieve ballots of who would recieve big five hunts but nomore only 7 people have a say now. So when you allow your circle to become smaller and close your mind to new ideas and believe that you know best without listening to the workers who jump in the truck and travel to these events and then have people believe that thats just the way it is its going to happen its time for changes to be made. I have been around since this started and believe me it was alot better then now. Do not ask the people who are running it because they are in love and when you are in love alot of the times you are blinded. Ask the people who have been around or the ones who are not around anymore ask them why? Tony upton Kevin Monroe Ron wagoner Tom flyod Paul prevot ask Greg hughes Adam hughes Bryan passmore ask them if it was better then . see what they tell you do not take my word for it. I will tell you this if something comes of this I believe it probley should go both ways because a reaction only happens for a reason. The question is what is that reason cheating or the grey area in the rules that we call a JUMP. Maybe we should look at the rule and clarify .thats right we do not have a rules committee no more.
