I have read this post and seen some interesting ansewers and questions. I also have seen some name calling here and their. Here is what I would like to really know. How can everyone that has posted tell me how to come to a conclusion to make it better. Here are some of my thoughts.
How about when a dog is registered with ARHA you receive an easy entery card.
All dogs will be measured at the big hunts and if they meet the standard will be given a sticker to put on their easy entry card. 13 or 15.
If a dog is measured out at 2 major hunts it will not be allowed to compete in any ARHA hunts.
My last thought is to use the system, if every club would like to see a rule change, submit it to the board, at the time for the rule changes, and each club send a representive to the metting.
Some of these posts that I've seen on here is why I have backed off of the hunts, but I will tell all that has posted if you get to Ohio, you are more then welcome to come and run with me. I only ask for one thing, its that we both are here to sit and listen to dogs doing what they are bred to do and some new or old friends enjoying theirselves. I usally like to sit on the tailgate or in the lawn chair and listen to the hounds. One more thing it don't make any difference if its 2 or 20, there's nothing better. [quote]Every one of us that has dogs that are oversize knows they are.

mr. mikkelson, i guess this is the part i don't understand. if you
know the hound is oversized why enter him in a trial? i have
got rid of hounds that were even a quarter of inch to tall. is that
the only size hounds you have access to or???????????????????

sounds like a gamble everytime you go to a field trial. i guess its
not for me. this is a topic that will go on for ever until a method
of measuring is completely agreed upon from each format. even
with proper instruction and practice measuring hounds your still
dealing with a hound that doesn't won't to cooperate. stack'em
rope'em use photo eye's. lets send it to NASA, surely someone
can come up with a fool proof ideal on measuring a beagle.
