$250 includes entry fees  In my case, the handler only ran the dog on Wednesday and trialed on Saturday. I was told it would take at least 6 weeks at that rate to condition the dog for large pack, so I've tried to do that myself, on cottontail (they say it can't be done). I'll see this weekend if I've been successful. My dog only needs 1 win for an IFC, he had not been run at all this spring when I got him. He did well at the Trial of Champions until he got tired. So I tried a handler for a few weeks and that didn't work. So I've run him myself, as much as possible, on cottontail. I believe he is in better condition now.

I contacted a conditioner in Maine and his kennel was booked up until November.

It sounds to me that conditioning and handling beats coming to work 6:30 3:00 every day across the street from the World Bank and the IFM in Washington, DC given the current terror threat :(

I don't see how running the dog one day a week and trialing on Saturday is going to get a dog in shape. I think you are better off running your dog on your own.

Just do as i do. When you get a free minute take one out for a run i try to at least run each dog 2 to 4 times a week, and when the leaves fall i run them every day,if not i'm training them to handle. This seems to keep mine in good condition.I really don't work them as hard in the summer due to heat, snakes, and to much cover, cause i like to see what my hounds are doing and if they mess up i can let them know they are doing wrong. But anyone would like to donate any money to buy and build me the land and the fencing i would bet i would run them 7 days a week. :D
Heck i know i would and i will let all donaters run theres to.
By appointments only. :D
