Trials In Michigan
I am wondering if anyone has info on field trials in Michigan..I live in west michigan..I am thinking of getting in to it but want to see some first...And any advice u can give me would be greatly appreicated.
There is a 2 day hunt in Homer. Which is just south of Marshall. The hunt is a UKC hunt and is August 5,6. Take I-69 to M-60 Tekonsha exit. Go east on M-60. Turn Right on 22 mile road. Club is down 22 mile road about 2 or 3 miles on the right. If your going just to observe be there at 7:00 am. If your going to enter a dog. Be there before 7:00 because thats when entrys close. Great club to go to lots of fun.

I dont know much about any other format accept UKC. Dogs are all usually cast within an hour of the entry deadline. In this case 7:00 AM. A cast will last two hours. The top four dogs will go out again in the afternoon usually around 1:oo pm. Most of the time the winners pack is 2 hrs also . But can be 1 hr. That will be determined at the clubhouse in the morning before the hunt. The running times for Champions and grand Champions are different. If you get into the sport you will learn that. The guys you go out with are really helpfull to first timers. But it is in your best interest to read and try to understand the rules as best as possible. If you read them and have a basic knowledge of them you will better understand what is happening in the feild when you go out.
