Ga Clubs/Trials

Post by GT »

I am considering making one more attempt at getting involved in field trials here in Georgia. The last trial I attended was an ARHA PP event about 5 years ago and I had visited some AKC SPO trials before then. Here is the issue: When I attended the AKC trials I always got the impression that I was crashing their party, maybe it was just me...not sure. Generally I was more welcomed at the ARHA trials and even tried to get involved with a local club but the particular club was somewhat disorganized and soon faded away. So, my question is: Can some of you who are involved here in Georgia offer some suggestions? I live in Brooks,Ga which is about 1 hour south of Atlanta and about the same distance to Macon and Columbus. And my hounds are probably best suited for PP,SPO or maybe GP trials. Just looking to get involved in a good club not too far away and participate in some field trials.

Thanks,
Gary Tye

Go to the ARHA/NKC home page http://www.arha.com/ and click on Progressive Pack link. From there you can find the clubs and upcoming hunt dates. You will also find a contact person and phone# for each club. Hope this gets you started in the right direction.

GARY ITS TIM FROM NC. Anytime you want to go to AKC or Arha PP trails I will gladly accompany you if I'm not working. I hope to get to participate in more of the events this upcoming year. So anytime you're ready just let me know. You are, in my opinion involved in ONE of the best family of hounds in the country. I'm a a member at Bens Knos Beagle Club, ARHA, theres some nice guys up there. I hadnt been involved much lately but I can tell you that they will welcome you to their trails. Give me a call sometime ...KEEP'EM RUNNING

I second the motion on ben's Knob beagle Club, I am a member their also. You will be welcomed in by all. I went to this club for the first time not knowing a soul and had never been to a trial. They paired me up with someone who took me out on each of their casts and explained everything to me. Great bunch of guys. Especially that quiet guy named Brice.(LOL) Inside joke for anyone that is a club member.

Lotts Creek Beagle Club East Georgia

Post by sgabeagler »

Are any of you guys familiar with Lotts Creek Beagle Club in the Statesboro, GA area? I am brand new to trialing so help me if you will. I have found in Hounds & Hunting where they are holding a "AKC Licensed Gundog Brace Trail". This club is the closest one to me that I have found. I guess what I'm asking is what kind of trialing is it? Fast, Slow, Medium etc.? Any insight that you guys could give on this would be appreciated as I am considering joining this closeby club. ;)

Tussahaw Beagle Club of Jackson, GA will be having a Progressive Pack Hunt on Saturday June 26, 2004 with an entry deadline of 6:00 am. Gary Tye you need to be there as Tussahaw is new and if the other club/clubs you attended weren't organized enough maybe with your help this one can make it and have more organization with your presence and membership. A man with as much beagle knowledge as you can really help a club out. All of you other folks come on down and visit with Tussahaw Beagle Club on the 26th. You will meet some good folks. A contact person is a good friend of mine Mr. Bill Sorrow at 678-752-9301. ;) Wayne
