We have 2 female 13" hounds that we really like because they have such good line control. We have one problem with them. They are happy to just sit in the back of the pack. We ran them both in a trial this past weekend and one came back in second series and stayed down but wasn't used in winners pack because she wasn't getting enough done. The other got picked up in first series beacause she was too slow. We have been running them together so one has to take the front. We have also soloed them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pick up some foot on these dogs? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Alyssa Kilcoyne
P.S. The one who came back in second series was a this years derby. The one who got picked up in first series was last years derby.

If you have them truly ran up, then they probably won't get any faster. Some hounds are just not as competitive as others. They may one day decide to be more competitive, but you will have to run them with hounds that will beat them a little. JMO
