One of my most used book is "Wildlife Food Plots Blending Science with Common Sense" out of the University of Tennessee. While the south has different growing seasons, the information is indispensable to anyone food plotting. The book covers everything from Ph to planting dates and is broken up into sections for each species. Rabbits are lumped with quail because they have similar habitat requirements. The section on common and specialty herbicides is worth the $20.00 price. Do you have any favorites that you rely on? If you go to their site, they have a PDF file for you to browse.
