Hercules shotgun made for Montgomery Ward

Post by Panther Creek »

I have a single shot Hercules shotgun made for Montgomery Ward. I bought this gun just cuz I thought it was cool, & it would make a neat wall hanger.
I don't plan on shooting it or using it.
It's a 20 guage no serial numbers & no model number. It says "proof tested 20 guage" on one side of the barrel, & "selected forged steel" on the other.
Nothing under the forearm. just the numbers 411, stamped on the receiver.
From a little research I did on the web, it was made by either Iver Johnson, Stevens or Harrington Richardson for Mongomery Ward.
My question is, what time frame were these Hercules shotguns made for M. Wards?? 1920's ? 1960's
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
It looks just like this one.
