what is the differance in a 45 colt and a 45 long colt.

My hubby says there isn't any difference. There is 45 ACP which stands for automatic colt pistol. These cartiridge are half the length of a 45 long colt or 45 colt.

Yep they are the same the only reason they started calling it the Long Colt was so it wouldn't be confused with the .45 Schoefield in the past.
