Nephew with Leukemia

Nephew with Leukemia

Post by tinymwoods »

I am asking everyone to pray for my nephew. He is 23 years old. His name is Bo Woods. I just got Bo into beagling. He is a newlywed of about 9 months and has his first kid on the way in August. He went to the dentist a week ago with a tooth ache. His gums started bleeding at the office and would not stop. He went to the hospital on Wednesday last week and his white blood cell count was REAL LOW. They did a bone marrow biospy last Friday (same day he found out they are having a boy) and admitted him in the hospital Saturday. They started chemo yesterday after they finally got his white blood cell count high enough. His prognosis is good all things considered. His work (Utility Trailer) had a blood drive in his name (you have to pay for blood or replace it). Over 80 pints were given and over $1000 was taken up for him to help with bills. The local banker (Bank of Marion) came by to see him and put his home loan "on hold" until he got back to work. The interest still adds up, but no payments due. The out reach of support has been great and I ask everyone for thier prayers during this trying time.
Thanks, Mike "Tiny" Woods

Bo got to come home this week. He has a home nurse visit him 3 times a week to take blood. He can't leave home and has to be really careful about visitors and any fresh food. He is taking treatments closer to home once a week and has to travel 3 times a month. The doctor told him to file for Social Security and Medicare. They said we should know more in about 3 months if it is working. Thanks for all the prayers and for taking the time to think of him and our family.
