Prayers for Rick

This is a special place for those requesting thoughts or prayers. Better to have them all in one place than to have one or two get lost in the quicker moving forums.

Prayers for Rick

Post by Buckeye Dog »

My friend of 40+ years who also takes care of my dogs, Rick who is dogsman126 on here is in the hospital for a week now with bone marrow cancer. He is having a rough time with the chemo and other drugs they give him. He loves this site and mentions many times how he has gathered a lot of good information here. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He has to be in the hospital maybe 2 more weeks.

Thank you for prayers. He has a lot of bags of stuff going in him because he isn't eating because he can't keep it down. Also too weak to get out of bed and do any walking. Maybe this week he will start to get some strength and be on repair I hope.

Rick is getting out today, Dec 31. The hospital said his cancer is in remission. They said he will always have bone marrow cancer but the treatments worked and it is in remission which is wonderful news. I guess it can come back full bore in 8 - 10 years but by then maybe some new treatments will have been found. He is still weak and not eating but I think once he gets home he will eat home cooked food and be able to walk around the house. Your home is much more comfortable than a hospital. Thank you for prayers, they really help
