Don't know much about private land up there , but should be some you just need to get out and beat the farmland roads & politely ask , maybe offer sometime helping the farmer or offer to take them along or some of the bounty their is alot of TVA land along Douglas lake that you can hunt also go the the state DNR here's the link : http://www.tn.gov/twra/wmas.html
Chuck Swan is a big area of a state manged land , Henderson Island is near Dandrige , it's about 300 arce's , but only access is by boat excetp in the winter but you would need to know a land owner to gain access , these areas are not to far from there either , Sunquist , Royal Blue and they are big ,I'm sure their are more state land up that way.
As for the closest feild trail clubs depends on what your looking for ARHA or AKC ,ARHA clubs I'd say look at the at their website but KY. or VA will be the closest not sure for AKC. ARHA website link: http://www.arha.com
That's a very nice area of TN , we had a lake house stright arcoss from Henderson Island for several yrs in the 80's & 90's but sold it , so I had access to the Island , 300 acre's aint real big but did hold alot of game for the size . I took a nice 11 pointer there in the mid 80's never gun hunted rabbits but ran my dogs alot back then .
