Garmin Astro 220

Post by Trutracking Rusty »

Following a long ten hours of searching for my best hounds a couple days ago, I figure it is time to invest in some tracking gear. I am seriously looking at the Astro system from garmin. Any input from hunters on here would be great, both good and bad. I am a little concerned with the size of the transmitter. My hounds are small thirteens and I dont want it to be cumbersome for them to get thru the bush. I would love some pics of your hounds with the collars on to size up how big the transmitters are. So please post some pics on here so I can have a look. Thanks a million.

Don, I run 13" beagles too and the collars fit great and are lighter that the old wildlife system. I love mine and would not hunt without it now.

Don't have any pics but I run 13" dogs with no problems no matter the condition.

I run one on a 13" bitch but it was too big from the factory so I transferred them over to dayglo and they work fine.

We use the Garmin on our beagles. We have all sizes and no problem. My thery is save one dog it pays for itself. That is if you love your dogs like we do. Good luck.
