WTB old, slow dog

Post by LoneBeagle »

Looking for an old, slow dog to help start my pups with. Don't care about the pedigree or even if it's registered. Not planning to trial the old dog, just wanting something to run and keep a race going for my young son and I. The dog will end its days with us and have an great life. Won't be swapped off or mistreated. Limited money, but will consider all dogs.

Call or text me anytime 620-429-6198.

where r u located at? i have a old one that is a real good dog,he's quiet u never know he's around the place.he is over weight, has ricket's real bad in his front leg's,it's almost like he walks on his ankles.it does not hinder him when it come's to him running, usally he can run around 4 to 5 hours and that is it,i never did push him,and when it come's to them long running wood rabbit's he can stand maybe one or two race's from one of those and that's it,he is not cold nose'ed or hot, kinda in between, and he does produce MOST of the time.never had him to run deer, not saying he wont,i've never had him to.he is slow 4 maybe 5 in speed ,ive seen him running and the rabbit stop and set and seem like 5 min would pass b4 he ever got to where it was at then it would take off,he is slow.he whines and whimper's all the time wanting to go when i load my others up to go.also he is shy,not gun shy, just shy, dont know why,i never whipped shocked or scould'ed him in any way,he has always been that way,but u feed him and pet him,and give him lots of attention he will take up to u,he's a one person dog,if u go hunting with ur friend,ur friend dont catch him,or call him in,only the person he knows and trust,it all goes back to his shyness.over all he's a slow running ,medium nose, producing( most of the time),shy, takes alot of attention, crooked front legs, would make a real pup trainer in my opion, not aggressive in any way towards other dogs, and tolerate's pup's,i've had him 6-7 years,im thinking he was around 18-24 months old when i got him.he is not paper'd and never had a shock collar on him either, never.

if any one is intrested reply on here, and he MUST!!! go to a GOOD home to some one that will give him the attention he needs, and that will pet and talk to him, thats what it takes for him to gain HIS trust and ur's. i will not let him go if i think he wont be care'ed for properly.
would be great for a kids first that is good with dogs,or someone with an ailment or disabilty that just could stand a couple hours worth of hunting.
