RABBIT RIDGE JUNE BUG D.O.B. 02/06/2010 Price $800.00 O.B.O. Located in Lake City, MI 49651

I bought this dog last spring from Eddy Williams for 850.00. Since then I have packed her and soloed her plenty on both snow and sod. She is a nice dog but not exactly what I am looking for. June Bug is medium to upper medium speed, with good line control. She is an open marked tri color with good conformation and a big high pitched mouth that is easy to recognize in a pack. I have no way of accurately measuring her but would guess that she is around 14 1/4 - 14 1/2" tall. She has a good nose, keeps the track between her feet, is clean on the ends and has decent foot. She stays busy hunting and is a pretty decent jump dog. June Bug is a friendly dog that handles extremely well. She slots up nice and runs the line whether she is first dog or third dog. I have set her up on and shocked her on fresh deer tracks and have had her turn down fresh tracks but I would not swear that she is trash broke. I do run her in the wild though. She spent last month at a 40 acre running pen where she got packed hard with 2-3 other dogs running hare for over 75 hours. All in all she is a real nice dog that like most needs more tracks. I am selling her because she is a step or two slower than my running dogs and isn’t competitive enough.

I prefer to sell her but am open to considering most trades so let me know what you have. I am also willing to travel up to three hours in one direction to deliver this dog or meet someone "half way".

I will gladly show this dog here in the field alone, and/or with your dogs or mine. Please contact Brent Haskin by PM, by E-Mail at brenthaskin@yahoo.com or by phone at 616-540-9825.

No sorry I do not. I may have a puppy out of IFC Cedar Beck Oliver and RC Black Point Dozer available but I believe they are all spoken for at this time.

My take on her speed is this:

1) She is by no means slow but there are faster dogs.
2) Speed is relative. What I call medium you may call fast, slow, or most likely some where in between.
3) Prior to me running this dog she had been soloed a ton on cottontails. I have been packing her on hare, which I don't believe she has ever ran, with dogs that have been running hare since they were six months old. As she learns how to run hare correctly and gets more used to being run in a pack she is picking up more foot.
4) I have seen her blister a rabbit at a quick clip but at this time she does not do this every time. The ability and breeding are there but she has not connected all the dots yet. If she does watch out. Because she was soloed so much, she was not forced to run accurately at quicker speeds. Instead, she resorts to accurate running at what I call medium to upper medium speeds. She is quite a bit faster than when I got her and I believe she will continue to get faster as she gains more confidence and learns to trust her more than adequate nose.

As a side note, I put 9 miles on her today, and 15 miles last week, all running hare and all on snow, which is no doubt new to her as well and she did a nice job.
