looking for a dog for my boys.

I have three sons ages 7,8,and 9 who LOVE to hunt. We have 2 female beagles one that used to hunt but does more walking around at your feet and only wants to run when its time to leave
, and one that is only 7 months old who is going to make a good hound when she gets a bit older. Would like to have a dog that makes it exciting to hunt rabbits. I really want them to like going as much as i do, and they are getting bored with my older dog and i cant really blame em as she hasnt jumped a rabbit in the last 4 or 5 times we have been out
. My boys have actually jumped more than she has by throwing rocks and sticks into brush piles. I see dogs on here that are several hundred dollars and sometimes over a thousand that advertise extreme hunt and good line, excellent speed and great nose. I told my wife this is what i want to get the boys but she said I cant afford it
. Which brings me to my question, is there any dogs out there that are not so expensive that hunt hard and wont run off. Papers are great but they dont matter as this dog will be strictly for my boys to learn and have fun with. It will be ran several times a week all year, and in its off time it will have the luxury of a fenced in backyard where it can lounge about with the other two. My 3 year old daughter will make daily trips to the backporch to check on it and throw it food that she deems inedible, mainly vegatables
. About the boys the dog will be going to, all three are in school, 1st 3rd, and 4rth grades, two of them play football, all three play baseball in the summer(on different teams
) and all 3 are scouts, one is a tiger one is a wolf and one is webelo, and all 3 love to hunt.
So if anyone has an inexpensive dog that hunts hard and is within driving distance of the mid ohio valley, st. marys WV, we would be interested and they have been saving their change and mine.
I know this is a heck of a time to be looking for one, especially with rabbit season just a few days off, but we didnt know my dog was gonna decide its hunting career was over. She will still hunt and trail a rabbit but doesnt show any intrest in jumping one herself anymore.
