Justin I never said I offered him $150 back. What I said was that I asked him if he was ready to sale her back to me. At that time he wasn't ready to sale her. I would have bought her back at that point for $150. Brett has been a total gentleman as far as I am concerned. He and I agreed to a deal. He met his part I met my part and I have nothing but good things to say about Brett. I guess I could be called a dog trader cause I took a free dog and made money on her. I have done this with 2 dogs. It seems that since everyone knows I raise beagles everytime they get 1 they dont want they contact me. I talked with Brett after this deal and he was pleased with this dog so therefore he and I are fine as far as I am concerned. I took another dog and traded it for a gun after I got him back in shape and running good. I guess in some eyes this may make me a trader and if it does I wish I woulda known this info. before I just GAVE away and entire litter of well bred AKC pups to my friends. Especially after I paid for an after hour emergency vet visit. So call me a trader or a jockey or whatever but I feel like as long as the person I move the dog to is pleased ( Brett in this case ) then all is well. Brett I apologize for you feeling like you have to defend yourself as do I, and I hope there are no ill feelings between me and you. Justin in your case I am sorry that this deal has upset you and hope you understand Brett and my position. Now sorry I hijacked your post Brett.

SMALL TOWN wrote:Well, my brother and I had owned the old girl in her younger days. She is a good dog and is stilled missed to this day. I have a male out of her and Surbers RC Red. He is a LP GRRCH, BCH with one more win he will be Grand on the bench. There is a female out of the same little and she is also a LP GRRCH and not sure about the bench. Both of those dogs are good. She is owned by a guy in my club. If the money was there I would buy her back in a heartbeat and that is no lie. She would get all the time she wanted to in the field. Doesnt matter if I have young pups or not. But with a little boy on the way money isnt there. Thanks, Bryan ( Small Town Kennel)
THANKS BUDDY FOR THE WORDS, WAS WONDERING HOW HER PUPS WAS DOING....SOUNDS LIKE THERE NOT DOING TOO BAD.....THANKS BRETT

So ................now that everyone is done fighting could anyone tell me is the dog still forsale. I can garuntee her a great home on 183 acres of brush feilds I want her for training younger dogs I figure a dog with her accompolishments must be an extremely straight dog and have heard many great things about her blood she definatly has earned herself a great place where she can relax chase a rabbit on occasion and get a few shot to her when seasons in Please let me know I am very interested in haveing her in my kennel.

You can give the old girl credit for producing a redtick female that I like. I drove alot of miles to get her. I wouldn't sell her for many times what I have in her. She will do it on her own or with company and needs no help. She may never be on the cover of a magazine but she will be in the swamps running a rabbit to catch. Her name is Wild Hare's Zora. Guess who I bought her from.
I bought her because her sire is a full brother to Talk About Blue Jasper. I have a bluetick son of Jasper that I think is a super good dog for 2 years old. The water doesn't get too deep nor the briars too thick for him. When he comes out of a check if the other dogs aren't with him they may not get with him. I plan to raise me some puppies from these two someday. I have a litter 4 mos old sired by Reggie and out of a my daughter of Jackpot. They ought to fit right in.
I have owned dogs for 50 years. I have sold PUPPIES that I have raised for as much as $900 each. I hope that doesn't make me a bad guy. Oh well, I raise my dogs to suite me and sell a few pups. I am bad about keeping too many. Out of 57 dogs that I have now, 20 are from about 7 to past 10 years old. They will most likely all die here from old age. I have 3 of them in my 12 acre running pen right now with some pups. If ole Shelby were here she could be with them. I asked about her when I got Zora but she was already gone.

Ok tickeled blue the reason we got rid of Zora is because she runs to ruff for us. Now if you like that, then that is your business, but I don't. Shelby doesn't hunt hard at all, can not run a rabbit worth a darn on snow, tight mouthed, but fast as hell and geared for UKC. She does do well on checks. The other two out of that litter aren't trial material. One is mouthy and the other one pulls out of checks and is tight mouthed. Out of 20 pups 2 have made trial dogs. Now tell me she is a good producer. And as far as putting dogs down we have done that to a few. I will tell you straight up on how a dog runs. We would put shelby in quite a few AKC trial and she has never gone to the winners pack. We try to run in that format mainly. Don't try to say we are the dog traders. We gave her away so kids could get some enjoyment out of her. We have given dogs as pets to familys and not tried to sell them. We only sell pups and running dogs if they don't fit our program. We have learned our lesson on giving dogs away. We will tear up papers and get them fixed so this doesn't go on.

hard to quit making points. LOL IF YOU WANT A DOG WITH DESIRE YOU GOT THE WRONG ONE. You aren't the dog trader here and I've sent you PM's saying this. I know where it started.

OK not trying to keep this going but I find myself confused here how is it a dog that doesn't hunt hard is great on checks and haveing a tight mouth is a problem I would much rather prefer a dog that barks when the rabbit is up over one that just babbles non stop. does the above quote confuse anyone else. Furthermore how can you go onto someone elses post with a dog forsale and have deragatory things to say that my friend is just rude how would you like it if every person who has ever sold you a dog or bought a dog from you went on your post and had bad things to say.

At the age of 63, life's too short for me to be so picky about dogs. I have always been in it for the enjoyment. My grandfather who would be 116 if living got me started when I was big enough to follow him and my father. I have owned hundreds of dogs and never a perfect one even though I still try to produce it. I have trialed some and have a dog with a handler now. I mainly just like running my dogs, raising some puppies and enjoying life. I enjoyed several hours today with my dogs. I just walked out on the porch and listened to a daughter of FC Hilltop Black Ace soloing a rabbit. Her mother was a PPRCH. She is a little above medium speed but can run the hair off a rabbit in her style. I like them all if they have that burning desire to jump a rabbit and run it like they need it for supper. If they make a mistake so what I make them all the time. I am an almost "burned out" insurance agent who can use some relaxing time with my dogs. I heard once that a person who had a dog was 40% less likely to have a heart attack. With 57 dogs what are my chances?
