For the price you should be able to fly the dog. You would still be getting off cheap.Alabama John wrote:I would like to have him and bet he would do good in these swamps after a BIG Canecutter which is practically all we run. I like his wanting the front. Cold weather nose not needed here. No Snow!
I'm 74 and run mostly with these grandsons instead of hunt. Any way to get him anywhere close to Alabama? You're too far for me to drive.
Thanks,
John

Re: 2 Year Old Patch Male
Thanks Swampman and Budd, he will sure have a good home here unless you find someone else you prefer closer.
Either way, whoever gets him, its still very generous of you. Caleb and Jeremiah both will claim him and they especially love it when their dog crosses first. No white dogs around here so he will stand out.
Thanks also to Shepdog for the offer to get him to Shelbyville, Kentucky and I will come there to get him if that works out.
If this doesn't work out, I'll inquire on how to fly him.
S R. Patch, I will not do anything that messes you up so let me know how you and Swampman stand.

John,
Rowdy has known how I felt about the hound for a long time now.
It is out of my hands.

No loss, like I told you last year, if you want him, he's yours.
Looks to me the first decision to take him or not is yours to make.
He hasn't said I could have him and I'm waiting for ya'll to do what you two want first.

John,
I could send you the e-mail I got and you would see the decision has been taken out of my hands.
Your story was very touching.
We'll have to see what rowdy decides.

Swampman,
I tried to call and left a message, looks like I got behind the 8-ball again. I don't have two grandsons but do have a 6 year old that has been dying for me to get him a beagle. I always had Patches and ran and produced some fine hounds, you can ask S.R. Patch as some of my crosses was made out of a female that I inquired from him. I am not trying to come between anybody
but would've loved to get that fella over here in WV, I could've showed some of these guys again what it was like to see a streak of white lightning. Good luck in what you do with him and hopefully the home you place him with is a true Patch enthusiast and can appreciate his bloodlines like some of us do. If you still want to talk you can reach me at 304-257-0651. God bless!!

Charles,
Feel free to send the email chain to whomever you choose.
I do ask that you include everything except my email address, please delete it before hand.
Rick,
If I can get the hound to you, can Charles pick him up there?
I was trying to do a good thing, but instead

Yes I will do that for you.
SR If I give you the papers. If you cross Jasper would you give those two boys a pup out of him. The first time you do it? I feel pretty bad for them. They seemed like they would have spent a lot of time in the woods with him.
Hope you don't take that bad or wrong SR just want everyone happy.

It was a very nice thing to offer a hound for free. Hope whoever gets him (or if the owner decided to keep him) well.
No obligation at all here. I was surprised being from that far north he didn't bark with too much of a yankee accent. These Southern dogs might of had a hard time understanding him. LOl
Good running to everyone!

Alabamajohn, sent you a pm.
Re: 2 Year Old Patch Male
I don't know what's been said or what's happened to the hound but I don't want this to be my fault like I kept some kids from getting a hound. No one here seems to have a problem making me out to be the bad guy.Swampman wrote:Charles,

I bred Jasper's daddy Kracker, and sold him to Josh, reddog bred him to Hanna to get Jasper's litter. I've liked Jasper since Bud started putting up the clips of him running and tried to get him when he was offered up by Ricky. Rowdy got him and if he didn't suite him, I was to get next shot, Rowdy and Ricky both seemed ok with this. I didn't make the Island trip because I had sciatic nerve problem in my hip, two weeks of eating Advil and trying to sleep it went away, had had small bouts with it but never anything like this one, the trip was ruined and so was my vacation. Part of the trip was to be whether Rowdy would keep the hound or not and after it was over, Rowdy gave Jasper to his dad which was great for him to have a hound but I was disappointed I hadn't got to make the trip.
Now the hound is offer up again and I said I sure would like to have the hound. It was said, he's yours if you want him. It was a couple day before I got back to Rowdy after the second offer cause we been working overtime at work and I guess that's were the kids came in on the deal.
So the question is, when you offer a hound, how long is the offer good between friend...or do you take first come/first served?
I've liked the hound and want him to have a good home, don't want it to seem like I've cut anybody out of a deal, but things seemed to have gotten twisted around like this is all my fault...and from my view, alot of misconceptions have caused hard feeling.
I just want everyone involved to know I'm sorry for my short comings and where I may have failed to keep up my part of the deal of what was expected.
That's all I can offer...
