Outstanding Prospect

Post by Walnut Shade Beagles »

I have an 8 month old female out of Burr Oak Burt X K-B's Lethal Lucy, she is white black and tan, nice looking hound! I've had this dog for several months, bought from Mr. Perry, she was fresh out of the starting pen. All I can say is that she is awesome! She puts my Rip male to shame, he cant get the lead from her! She wants the front and can hold onto it, she will swing out in the check, pick it up again and just roll! I know alot of guys like that, I particularly don't. My Rip male has come a long way since I bought him, believe it or not he is a totally different dog with my SPO style hounds, I love what he does, but when I put her in the mix he reverts back to his old rough self! I hate to sell this dog because I know what she is now, and she is going to be a beast the more time she puts in, but she just will not fit anywhere in my kennel, I've tried all different combo's and she is just too much. She has good hunt and jump, once that 1st rabbit is up she even turns it up more the rest of the day, I would say she is an 8-9 on speed, handles good until she gets that rabbit in her nose then she will not quit! She'll come back when she is sure that rabbit is lost or holed. She runs like a grown dog. Serious inquiry only. $800.00. Will show her in the field here, or a 1 week trial with cash in hand. Thank You. Nick 302-535-7615

Burt throws some very nice pups. I have seen a couple of them go and they were above average with nose power. Should be a nice female here.

Took her out yesterday to show a feller that was interested :D I have a pine patch with some sage, briars etc. you can see the hound pretty good but there is enough cover so as not to make it easy. There are paths cut thru so you can move around and see the rabbit every now and then also. We started out and she was hunting fairly well, made a couple passes thru there and she jumped one, she ran that one pretty fair, we saw him 3 times, she circled him twice. I asked him what he thought. He said lets try to get another one. Now she is all amped up hunting real good now. By and by she jumps another rabbit, we only saw this one twice, but she circled him around the whole piece of ground(30 acres?)3 times, and I mean just puttin it on him! She couldn't have shown better! We'd been out a couple hours so I collared her up and said, if you know anything about rabbit dogs you have seen enough! I bought a dog from an older guy awhile back and that dog flat out performed, I watched with my jaw hanging open! And when that dog came by again he caught it and started walking back to the truck and told me that same thing, boy if you know ANYTHING about a rabbit dog you've seen enough! I thought that was the coolest thing I had ever heard, I also had my money in hand when we got to the truck. Moral of that story was if I ever was in the position to use that line I was gonna do it! Get to the truck and I asked him what he thought. He says she did an excellent job. I asked him do you want her? He said, naw, I don't have 800.00, I just was bored today and wanted to see what an 800.00 dog would do! It was a very tense ride on the way back to my house :censored: Thought I'd share that with you guys.

I'm only going to leave her on here another day or so. I'll see what she is around Fall time, she will get alot of solo time between now and then.

I am going to pull this dog. I have 2 people interested in her that are looking at her today.(that is if they show!) If they like her they can take her. If not I am going to see what she will make. I know 800.00 seems like alot for a puppy, but look back at some dogs you had that were your best, knowing then what you know now, how much would you pay for that dog? I'm not saying she is the second coming of Chri&t or anything like that, but for her age she is as good a prospect as I have seen in awhile. Who knows what will happen in 8 more months come gun season, but I will have a better picture of what she will be. Thank you all for your calls and interest in this hound. Nick
