I am looking for a product that I can apply to my dogs coat to give it that shiny look. I am looking for somthing that is applied shortly before showing on the bench, preferably a mist type product that is just wiped on/off, and give the coat shiny appearance.
Any and all help is appreciated, thank you.

Hi! There are sooo many to choose from! One very popular product is
"Bio-Groom Mink Oil"
Instant Coat Glosser
Conditioner
Plus Sun Shield.
Go easy on it (I am the worst for overdoing it) and apply it to a clean brushed coat....just mist it on. It's inexpensive too. You can find it anywhere...just do a google search for the best price

Just head to your nearest Wal-Mart and pick up some "shine" product in the shampoo section. garnier makes one, Loreal makes one.. there are several. They all say "shine" on them. Just one light spritz and rub with your hand. I spray a tiny bit into my hand and run my hand across the dogs head as well.

A bad idea if your showing next to the "mink hounds"...

well careful putting ANY kind of inhancement on your Dogs before a UKC show or Any bench Show it is a Disqualification in ANYthing other than AKC and I would like to see it banned there also!!!!
As a bench show judge in UKC I have and Will DQ for any foriegn Substance that inhances a dogs NATURAL appearance..
if your looking for that Shine try better feed or any of the fish oils for a healthy Skin and coat....
Any Feed With a good quality and the omega 3 and 6

Inside the building we tend to show in during the winter the light is horrible, as you can see by the horrible looking humans in the win pictures, lol.
A little gloss on the coat helps in the dull lighting but whatever product you use can't come off on the judges hands. Definitly be careful as I have lost some nice wins due to my trials and errors with "cosmetics."
What kills me is that if you are BIG enough, at least in AKC, you can be like the guy I saw showing a Westie that was chalked and hair sprayed so heavily it left chalk rings all over the group floor and I was surprised it could move out,

LOL. I honestly can't remember if it placed or not, I think it did and it was a bad influence on me....but I have swiftly discovered that I can't get away with any obvious tricks
Showing in AKC is definitly an art!
