Re: Bench
I use stacking stilts that my husband made. They are expensive to buy though so, 4 tuna cans work well. space them out 4-square and make your dog stand on them... Another thing I do is to lift the dog by the front between the legs, and back between the rear legs and scrape its feet across a table... just to throw off the balance a bit. Then I place the legs where I want. Always move the legs from the elbow and hock.. not the foot. Tell the dog in a firm voice STAY!!!!Drop_tine wrote:Any tricks on getting your dog to stay still on the bench?
some of you may not know what stacking stilts are. Here is a website with the original ones http://www.happylegs.com/sizes.html You can really use a lot of different things. Cans, bricks etc. Just something to get the dog up off the ground but, still a stable surface. We are working with puppies now and they are doing great.
