Dogs have a opposite reaction to our actions. you said when you stack your dog, he leans backward, so instead of pushing him forward, do the opposite and pull him back. this will make him get off balance and want to lean forward. What I do, is just pull the base of the tail back, and he will (hopefully) lean forward, try this! I hope it works...
