G.O.P. Logic
If a man shuts his ears to the cry of the poor, he too will cry out and not be answered
Re: G.O.P. Logic
Former senator Chris Dodd made $2.4 million as MPAA head in 2011
quote:
The MPAA has made no bones about its tight relationship with Congress, and recent numbers reveal it's paying handsomely to employ former Connecticut senator Chris Dodd. In tax files recently unearthed by TorrentFreak, Dodd was paid a total of $2.4 million for fiscal year 2011, including a $100,000 bonus. Dodd was previously believed to be making about $1.5 million a year, while his predecessor Robert Pisano's salary was pegged at about $1.3 million. Though the MPAA is required to make tax filings public, 2012 data is not yet available. The organization itself took in $60.8 million in revenue, an increase from $49.6 million the year before.
2011 was Dodd's first year at the MPAA; more notably, it was also the year that saw the inception of extraordinarily unpopular anti-piracy bill SOPA. Dodd was instrumental in pushing SOPA — which was authored by Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX) — and was up-front about paying politicians for their support. After Smith tabled SOPA, Dodd was quoted by Fox News threatening a backlash against Obama, who opposed the bill. "Don't ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don't pay any attention to me when my job is at stake," he said. Dodd himself left the Senate for the MPAA in 2011 after 30 years in office.
In February 2011, despite "repeatedly and categorically insisting that he would not work as a lobbyist,"[20][21] Dodd was identified by The New York Times as the likely replacement for Dan Glickman as chairman and chief lobbyist for the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).[22] The hiring was officially announced on March 1, 2011,[23] with his salary estimated at $1.5 million per year.[24]

Why be afraid of republicans. Democrats have the Presidency, the Senate, the education system, the Enterainment Media, the News Media.

Americans see biggest monthly income drop in 20 years

NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
Feeling poorer?
Americans saw their income drop so dramatically in January that it marked the deepest one-month decline in 20 years.
Personal income decreased by $505.5 billion in January, or 3.6%, compared to December (on a seasonally adjusted and annualized basis). That's the most dramatic decline since January 1993, according to the Commerce Department.
It's something of a combination of one-time events, though.

The government watchdog group Judicial Watch is suing the Treasury Department for records pertaining to the department’s decision to grant a Chinese government-backed company access to oil deposits in the Gulf of Mexico, a move that will benefit Obama donors.
The Chinese National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) reached a “definitive agreement” with Nexen, Inc., a Canadian energy company, announced on July 23, 2012, to buy all of the company’s outstanding public shares. Nexen has holdings in the Gulf of Mexico and Canada, giving the Chinese government access to millions of barrels of Keystone XL and Gulf reserve oil.

Newt I actually ignored his post. I was going to let PMB the tax payer funded, government dependent leftist post to himself. My rabbit dogs are more informed than PMB and have tons more common sense.

Re: G.O.P. Logic
Newt- Those stats kinda help us see what is so wrong with people in this country today don't they. So many Americans just go buy what they want and if they don't have cash they charge it. As a father of three with the oldest being just 10 my wife and I have already talked about how we must instill in the children financial responsibility. You buy what you can afford. If you can't afford a new car don't buy one. I drive a 1997 Ford Ranger that I bought after graduating high school. It now has 214,000 miles on it and still runs well. With today's vehicles they can easily reach 200,000 miles with proper maintenance. But people will trade every couple years and end up a little more upside down on their trade in each time. I just don't get it. I prefer to buy a used car from a private party with one owner myself.
The thing so many young people today don't get is just live within your means. If your yearly income is 30,000 you can't spend like it's 40,000 or you are going to dig a hole that you can't climb out of. This has nothing to do with democrats or republicans just irresponsible people. Which is one of America's biggest problems right now. Everyone wants something for nothing. This post is not a rebuttle to any of the above posts just my opinion on what I see in our country today.

Re: G.O.P. Logic
Dale your exmple is about the way my wife and I have lived our lives. I've never bought a vehicle just to keep up with society. When our vehicles have lost their utility for my family, we have given them to somone less fortunate or the church. I had a Volkswagon Rabbit Deisel that I drove to work and put over 200,000 miles. Then I gave it to my sons to drive to college. Then I bought a Dodge Dakota which I drove for over 200,000 miles. I might still be driving it but a mouse ate the insulation off the ventillation fan wiring. It caught fire and burned.
We are living in a world that most responsible people don't recognize much like Rod Serling's "the Twilight Zone".
Our society is nothing like the world we were taught to prepare for as young people.
