I am not one to get on a computer and post things for the most part. I somewhat enjoy reading what others post and their arguments for or against. Most times, what I read is humorus. Most of the "copied" articles, I don't even bother to read, as it is more "letters to the editor" type reading than anything else.
What I really find disturbing, and that is the reason for this topic, is the blanket condemnation of "republicans" and "democrats". It seems that people need to "latch on too" something, anything, and don't seem to want to be individual thinkers. The "party" says this, the "party" says that. Talk show hosts (and other political writers), seem to be elevated to a position next to God, or to sit at the right hand of the devil, depending on the person and their political persuasion. This seems to have started back in the era of the elections before Clinton, when most of the negative campainging (sp?) started. ELECT ME BECAUSE THE OTHER PERSON IS A (INSERT DISPARAGING REMARKS HERE).
Republicans were the one's responsible for setting black people free. Democrats used this unpopular decision (in the confederate states) to take power in these states. Business may be associated with the republican party, but where would America be today if it were not for business? Unions had a purpose when they first started. Yes, people were taken advantage of , and unions became a necessity to try and ensure fair treatment for all, but unions became greedy and wanted more and more, and it became too much of a burden for business to bear. Although it was an idea championed by George H.W. Bush, it was a democrat, Bill Clinton, who sighed NAFTA into law and with NAFTA came an exodus of good American jobs to other countries, as it became less expensive to open factories in other countries than to give into union demands. So, in a way, it was unions and the democrat party that actually led to the decline in jobs in this country.
Although the Constitution of the United States proclaims that "All Men are Created Equal", nothing can be farther from the truth. Not all people possess the same IQ. Not all men are built the same or are equally strong. Not all women can bear children. People are born sickley, etc, etc. Manual labor, factory work, is a necessity for these to survive and be productive members of society, we can't all be electronic wizards.
To work at odds with each other because of politics (and I am NOT talking politicians, I am talking common folk), is to keep our once proud country divided and we can never progress in that state. We need to discuss logically and truthfully what needs to be done to get America back on the rails, and for that very reason I am not a democrat or a republican,

Joe
That is a good post ,I guess as it was intended to be neutral ,even though the Republican ,part still came out in the post.
You will not get much in the way of Individual thinking here ,or ,any kind of admission of who is wrong ,The very first response to your post from Rabbit ,Was a iie.
That is about all you will get .
But,the Idea of American citizen's uniting ,is good I have entioned it several time's ,The Bush Adminstration and Dick Walk on the Constitution Cheney ,Divided this country to point it will never be re-united ever, and it will take decades just to re-cover from the economic distruction ,if ever.

Really so you don't remember that Clinton opened the doors to corperate exiting for more profit. Typical union brainwashed response.
