Whoops: PolitiFact's 'Lie of the Year' Turns Out to Be True

Last month, PolitiFact selected its "Lie of the Year." Given PolitiFact's dubious record of singling out Republicans for lying far more often then Democrats, you probably could have guessed the winner of this particular sweepstakes was a Mitt Romney campaign ad:
It was a lie told in the critical state of Ohio in the final days of a close campaign -- that Jeep was moving its U.S. production to China. It originated with a conservative blogger, who twisted an accurate news story into a falsehood. Then it picked up steam when the Drudge Report ran with it. Even though Jeep's parent company gave a quick and clear denial, Mitt Romney repeated it and his campaign turned it into a TV ad. And they stood by the claim, even as the media and the public expressed collective outrage against something so obviously false.

"Public expressed collective outrage"? That's essentially wishcasting on the part of PolitiFact, nor are they accurately representing what Mitt Romney said in the ad. In fact, here's PolitiFact's original "fact check" on the matter:

[Mitt Romney] Says Barack Obama "sold Chrysler to Italians who are going to build Jeeps in China" at the cost of American jobs.

Ok. Now here's what the Reuters reported earlier this week:
Fiat (FIA.MI) and its U.S. unit Chrysler expect to roll out at least 100,000 Jeeps in China when production starts in 2014 as they seek to catch up with rivals in the world's biggest car market. ..."We expect production of around 100,000 Jeeps per year which is expandable to 200,000," [Chrysler CEO Sergio] Marchionne, who is also CEO of Chrysler, said on the sidelines of a conference, adding production could start in 18 months.

So, yes, it's confirmed that Jeep will be producing cars in China.

Some more jobs Obama has made.

Ever the optimist this probably means China will need more power, which means we can sell more coal, which will keep some mines in operation even though we are cutting our usage. Listening an interview with Chrystler Ceo Sergio he said that Jeep will continue to be made in Ohio, though some countries like China, products only made in China can be sold in China. So all jeeps sold in America will be made in America. This interview took place Wens. Now Romney said the Jeep plant will be moving to China and their will be loss of Jobs wrong Sergio said their will be jobs added to the Jeep plant in Ohio. Romney in my opinion tried to scare people in Ohio into believing Jeep plant was moving.

Here’s what Romney said on October 25th, 3 days later in response:

Romney never personally asserted Jeep was considering moving all production to China. Bloomberg and Mike Manley, COO of Fiat and Chrysler in Asia said that.

My source is the Romney speech and the Romney Ad, not Fox News . No interpretation required. Just simple facts.

PolitiFact did characterize MR's foreboding that Fiat would choose to expand Jeep production in China, not in the US as a "lie". Not only was it not a lie, but after only 4 months it's been proven true.


Now you all knowing, tell me where he lied. Go find a source that has a quote by Romney that is a lie.
It appears that you guys and your sources are the liars. The interview I listened to on NPR Sergio himself said their will be jobs added in Ohio and only the vehicles being sold in China will be made in China. They both lied. What new plan has Obama proposed that is different than his first four years.
No one ever asks Obama about his plan or why the economy has not grown under his direction. Its like he is not accountable to anyone. We just float along drowning in debt with a huge water fall roaring in the distance. Even Romney was averse to asking him pointed questions about his plans for the future and the results of past decisions.
