With more than 4.6 million private sector jobs added over the past 30 months, the economy is working its way back from the worst economic recession since the Great Depression. But as President Obama has made clear, there’s more to do—and he has a real, achievable plan to strengthen the economy. In fact, he has a plan to create 1 million jobs now by keeping teachers and first responders on the job, putting construction workers back to work, and cutting taxes for small businesses that hire and invest in their business. However, the House GOP continues to block the President’s jobs plan.
Meanwhile, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are under fire for failing to provide any specifics about their economic plan. Instead, they’re trying to claim that their plan will create 12 million jobs in their first term. But here’s the thing: As ABC’s George Stephanopoulos pointed out, independent economists project that the economy is already on track to add 12 million jobs under current policies.
Here’s what independent fact checkers had to say:
Washington Post fact checker:
“Moody’s Analytics, in an August forecast, predicts 12 million jobs will be created by 2016, no matter who is president. And Macroeconomic Advisors in April also predicted a gain of 12.3 million jobs.”
Washington Post’s Ezra Klein:
“Romney’s target of 12 million jobs over the next four years happens to be the same number of jobs that economic forecasting firm Moody’s Analytics expects us to add even without major policy changes.”
New York Times:
“Mr. Romney’s promises may actually be a little underambitious, in that his promised job growth is pretty close to what’s already expected. In its semi-annual long-term economic forecast released in April, Macroeconomic Advisers projected that the economy would add 11.8 million jobs from 2012 to 2016.
The bottom line is that President Obama’s plan—including support of the American Jobs Act—is the only one that will actually create a substantial number of jobs—two million more than the Romney-Ryan plan.
In fact, while the President’s plan would create 1 million jobs next year based on outside estimates, analysts say the Romney-Ryan economic plan could cost over 1 million jobs next year.
Republican -plan for America.
Mark Hopkins, senior adviser at Moody’s Analytics, said, “If we implemented all of [Romney’s] policies, it would push us deeper into recession and make the recovery slower.” Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz said, “The Romney plan is going to slow down the economy, worsen the jobs deficit, and significantly increase the likelihood of recession.”

I agree with you Both Parties are to blame .
But,Just look at this fiscal Cliff -thing the President as compromised in every area ,,while Republican's ,still hold the 99.83 % Of American's hostage and put the .17 Tenth's of one percent on a cloud and worship them.

LMAO!!!! compromise, balanced aproach, Obama has done neither.
Re: The Real Reason Republican's Are Pushing America Over Cl
No BS, here is the reason we are teetering on the cliff. Wonder if PM is getting any of this money.
President Obama has proposed an emergency relief bill that is intended to help with the ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The bill, which comes to a tune of $60 billion, has endured increased criticism over the last few days — on account that roughly 20% of the bill's proposed allocations don't have much to do with storm relief..
In spite of much needed fiscal responsibility, it appears that the federal government will continue to spend taxpayer money like the words "fiscal cliff" are inconsequential. Although much of the East Coast is still recovering from Sandy, it seems that the president's bill may be more about increasing government spending than it is about helping Sandy victims — not to mention, that through already available government funds and private donations, it may not be needed at all.
The bill in question, among other things, provides $150 million for Alaskan fisheries and $8 million for the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to purchase new cars and equipment. Also, an additional $13 billion of the bill would go toward projects that are designed to prepare for future storms.

Re: The Real Reason Republican's Are Pushing America Over Cl
There is but -1- Reason for the fiscal clff and that is simply ,Republican Terrorist, and according to what I just saw look's like Republican's ,got what they wanted again The President gave in and negotiated with Terrorist ,because of the -2 million who would find themselves with out any income tomorrow if they were un-employed because the Republican congress ,(( The Worst Congress In History )) Killed all the job's bill's.And Many more American's would find their check a little shorter because Republican's wanted to give the elite 1 % or so even more .
Republican's, are like a Cancer on America ,and there is no question about that.

Re: The Real Reason Republican's Are Pushing America Over Cl
The "Party System" was designed so that we take what we want leaving just enough for the workers not to quit. Since Obama became President, he is not concerned aout workers quiting, his crowd have figured out how to appease the majority by borrowing and taxing enough to buy enough votes to keep control. Its the idea of the grasshopper, I'll sing and play in the sunshine, to hell with tomorrow. Its Saturday night and I'm going to party.Chuck Prather wrote:I agree Mr Shoopman! They all need to go! He has done about the same as Bush, but he has done it bigger. However, Obama can be forgiven because he is a compassionate liberal. The have good intensions.

Re: The Real Reason Republican's Are Pushing America Over Cl
Hey pmb, at least post all of the facts if you are gonna complain.
Congress and the White House hammered out a tentative deal for revenue increases which ended in a compromise on what dollar figure in regards to earnings it would take for people to see a tax increase. So just so we're all clear here it was a compromise........pmb, if you don't know what that word means I can post a link to the definition for you. They settled on $400,000 for individuals and $450,000 for families/married households. While this wasn't the $250,000 mark that Obama was looking for it was much closer to his mark than the $1,000,000 figure republicans started at.
HOWEVER, this was suppose to happen in conjunction with the automatic spending cuts that were suppose to take place that the White House/Obama pulled off of the table as soon as congress came to an agreement on who to raise taxes on. And yes pmb, I heard his speech about how it is better to cut taxes using a scalpel rather than an ax but once again we have tax increases with NO REAL SPENDING CUTS OF ANY KIND!!!!!! This is the definition of kicking the can down the road yet again just like most of the presidents before him have also done. He has the balls to stand up there on his podium and give a big long speech about being balanced while throwing rep.'s under the bus all the while knowing he pulled his portion of the "balance" completely off of the table. And then will go on to talk about how republicans are the once holding us hostage............boy sure sounds a lot like some guy on this board using that word huh!?!? It was a political move once again just to make republican's look bad while he gets to stand up and act like he is the only one trying to save our economy. Anyone can give a speech but just like him most can't back it up because it's all a load of crap to begin with. So once again republicans give in to some tax increases, got screwed on the spending cut end of things because we all know that part ain't gonna happen. And when the next set comes up like Obama mentioned he will want another "balanced" approach which means he'll want more tax increases and we'll see if that includes any spending cuts since this time around it wasn't balanced so next time IMO should be strictly about spending cuts.
How hard is it to see that we just plain spend too much money as a country!!! And forget about the health care bill and the wars. We spend more than we can afford even without those things as part of the equation. All I know is I sure wish I had a money tree in my back yard too................oh wait, Washington doesn't either they just have a credit card with no limit on it!!!!!!! WHAT A FRICKEN JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And just special for you pmb, that's facts with my own personal opinions mixed in just in case you couldn't tell.............NOT SOMETHING I COPIED AND PASTED HERE FOR YOU TO READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have been reading my Post for vert long you know when say Republican,I mean republican Politician's at least until lately.
When you guy's ,(( The one's That do )) call this President a Muslim ,you are calling The American's who support this President A Muslim Terrorist,
Now day's ,It's not a matter of a difference of opinion -any more -You say you are a Republican of 30 Year's then you should know that the Republican Party has changed drastically in the last decade,I was a Registered Republican for 17 year's until Bush,Then The Republican party started their all out attack's on America's worker's ,voter's women, union's etc.
They stopped trying to hide their agenda.
You say you are a Republican --what does that mean to you --what is a Republican today --you don't know or you would not admit you are one --Because ,first you work for a living,You Believe worker's should be treated fairy, you believe taxes should be paid fairly by all,and government should be smaller--None of these thing's fit in the Republican agenda,As Republican's proved in the last election ,they are against every thing America stands for.
When you attack America's worker's,and their right to be represented by a union, you attack America.
When you attack women's right's ,you are attacking america's Bill of right's.
When you attack the American Voter's -right to vote by every mean's Possible-changing law's aimed at minorities limiting voter access-you are attacking america-
Republican's -do not support the Bill Of Right's--Republican's -believe in right's as long as the right is what they believe.
Plutocracy-A government controlled by the wealthy few.
Does that sound familiar to you,---------Republican's this very minute are wanting-2-million American's that are getting un-employment,because Republican's killed job's bill's,they want their un-employment benefit's cut off,eve though they worked to get these benefit's,
And they want to raise taxes on 98 % of American's ---WHY---Because they want the 2/10 tent's of one percent to have even more and widen the income inequality gap in America .
More to the point -terror -strike fear ------2-Million American's right now don't know if they will have an income tomorrow or not, they don't know if they will be able to feed their children,or,pay their bill's.
WHY----->
If you support the Republican Party what does that mean.what do you think you support.
Bunnycrap
First you, have a money tree ,in your back yard --Your Father In Law-
Second -You Republican's would really like to forget the two war's off the budget ,,until this ,President was sworn into office,,as well as the Prescription drug program left un-funded--Republican politician's are good at kicking the can down the road for the Democrat's to deal with alway's have been---Republican's spend like druken sailor's -then let the Democrat's fix the problem while they kick and scream about he national debt.

Show me your green card ,and birth certificate,
No one born ,in this country ,could be so hard against America ,
Newt
You are simple minded-Democrat's did not borrow money for two foolish war's and hide the expense of them and pass a subscription drug plan and not pay for it.
Just keep it hidden and off the book's until the Democrat President got into office then blame him for it.
If a Republican is talking they are simply lieing .-simple.
