Gay Marriage
At last, another minority can now experience life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Isn't it great to be an American?

Re: Gay Marriage
My opinion.... This " marriage " is unethical, unnatural, immoral and most importantly to me, un - Biblical. It's not a marriage in the eyes of my Lord and savour Jesus Christ. There for I'm against it. Again my opinion........ Oh yeah ,
God's too.

Re: Gay Marriage
I'LL 2 ND THAT!!!!!
Re: Gay Marriage
Gentlemen, it may be all that you say. But, it was not that long ago that a marriage was considered a union "...between a white male and a white woman." Look it up. I have been happily married to a woman for about 40 years but, a gay marriage does not threaten me or my religion. It is working fine in many countries. These people are not dangerous, just different and really, not all that different. Tolerance and adherence to the constitution seems to be the moral and legal law of the land. I trusted my life to gay people in the military and see no reason why these patriots should not be allowed to live the life they desire and deserve.
Re: Gay Marriage
In regards to marriage, the bible also had to this to say:
1. Gen 29:17 and IISam3:2-5: Marriage shall consist of a union between one man and one or more women.
2. II Sam 5:13 and I Kings 11:3 and II Chron. 11:21: marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines, in addition to his wife or wives.
3. Deut. 22:19 and Mark 10: Marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed.
4. Gen. 24:3 and Num 25:1-9 and Ezra 9:12 and Neh 10:30: Marriage of a believer and a nonbeliever shall be forbidden.
5. Deut 22:19 and Mark 10: Marriage is for life. Divorce is not permitted.
6. Gen. 38:6-10 and Deut. 25:5-10: If a married man dies without children, his brother shall marry the widow. If he refuses to marry his brother's widow or deliberately does not give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe.
Seems to me, it would be tough for anyone to meet these marriage standards.

doesn't say wife of one wife or husband of one husband

Re: Gay Marriage
If it is right in gods eyes why did he destroy sodom and gomorrah
Genesis 19
1And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
6And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
9And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door.
10But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door.
11And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
15And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD:
19Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
20Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
28And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.

LEVITICUS 18:22 KJV
Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
LEVITICUS 20:13 KJV
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman , both of them committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
REVELATION 21:8 KJV
But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
As a born again sinner, saved by grace through faith, I pray that these people come to know Christ and see the TRUTH. I will pray for these people , but WILL NOT consider their lifestyle acceptable. May be those that do , are in the "minority". I certainly hope so.

Re: Gay Marriage
You boys have busy. I think this is an easy one. 2 men nor 2 women mating can not reproduce rendering it un-natural and immoral, common sence my friends, has nothing to do with tolerance has to do with right and wrong. We are not tolerable of murderers, rapists, robbers and so on. Tolerance is what has drug this society into the pit it's in. I like the old country song, you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything.
Re: Gay Marriage
Lot is supposed to be the hero of this piece but here he is offering up his virgin daughters for the crowd to do what they want with them. The sin that the crowd would have been guilty of is rape. Whether the daughters or the two strangers. If the strangers or the daughters had consented to the sex, it would have been consensual. Further, the sin in the desert region would have been one of inhospitality. Denying a traveler food, water and a place to sleep in this region at that time, was a sin second only to murder. Certainly, if the travelers came out of the desert looking for a place to sleep and they were allowed to be raped, it was have been a major sin whether they be men or angels.
As for Lot and his two daughters, well incest and drunkenness is not beyond them but we condemn consensual sex. What we have here is a clear case of hypocrisy. The same scriptures used to condemn homosexual behavior, condemn hypocrisy in the most strident terms and with far greater authority. Yet, there are no taboos against hypocrisy. Jesus himself condemned it 21 times in the bible. I find nowhere where Jesus said gay people should not be married or consensual sex should be illegal.
Following the angel story, we go to Isaiah: 1:10, 17,21-23 and Ezekiel 16:49-50 The sins of the city were defined as (condensed version) arrogant, overfed, and unconcerned with the poor and needy.
Each time Jesus mentions the city, he does so in the connection with inhospitality: Matthew 10:14-15 Or perhaps ingratitude or just plain stupid. See Mathew 11:23-24
The only biblical passage that even mentions sexual behavior that might apple to homosexuals is in Jude 7-8 but he was referring to idolatry and not what goes on between consenting adults in their own bedroom.
Immoral: come on. The very people who created the dictums or what is moral, our priests, nuns, boy scout leaders, government officials, etc. have practiced homosexuality for thousands of years or...was it just hypocrisy on their part which is not against the law.
Now, is it unnatural. Natural refers to nature so lets look there first. Every mammal has been and can be observed taking part in same-sex activities. in nature, by the way, what is decidedly unnatural in monogamy especially for life. I stick with mammals because some forms of life, mate and then devour their partners. From a purely human perspective, homosexual activity has been recorded in every culture that kept records from the beginning of time. Any behavior observed among all races, all peoples, all cultures, and in all countries should certainly be considered natural for humans.

Romans 1:19-32 (KJV)
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This is what is wrong with our country today as well as the church! Everything is OK, If it feels good do it! We have set passively by and let out country get in the shape it is in today while trying reason that everything has a place. Re: Gay Marriage
If the mating is impossible of reproduction it is wrong and beyond that if is not something you would embrace not tolerate but be proud of for your child, well you have decide for yourself, but carrying on your family would become awful hard.
