Re: government oversight
NO!!!!!!!! BC you have government committees for that, the banks failed because the legislation failed (how many times do I have to say that). The law makers allowed people to finance what they could not pay for. I see this all the time, people basing their budget on overtime and borrowing to the extent they can afford with NO regard to hidden occurences, like gas prices doubling without warning, grocery prices jumping, luxery items (like all of our dogs) cost rising etc.
Some of you guys just dont get it.

Re: government oversight
rabbithoundjb I realized what you said, and that part is why I asked the question, and I'm glad you mentioned, the government, legislation, failed us, I know they need to change some things, but we talk about more government, or less government, do you feel, we need some oversight, about all this money, that it should be used for the majority not the minority, and let the banks who allowed bad loans to face the music, when there is no profit for the government, when they are doing well. I believe jb you would be the one, that most likely, could hold a reasonable conversation, from what I have noticed, any time you disagree, with the opposite side, name calling and put people down, is by far the way to clarify if someone is ignorant or not,,,,,Rabbithoundjb wrote:NO!!!!!!!! Re: government oversight
BC oversight and regulation should be handled by the law makers we elected to do that. Not more government or some outside agency. Until our elected officials are held accountable for their actions (that can only be done at the poles) by the voters, we are in trouble.
